TANJAB BARAT – Bupati Tanjung Jabung Barat, Drs. H. Anwar Sadat, M.Ag., didampingi Wakil Bupati Dr. H. Katamso SA, S.E., M.E., melaksanakan kunjungan kerja ke Desa Kuala Dasal, Kecamatan Tungkal Ulu, dalam rangka menghadiri panen raya melon di kawasan Agrowisata Budidaya Melon, Jumat (17/07).
Panen raya tersebut menjadi bukti keberhasilan pengembangan sektor hortikultura di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat. Dari lahan seluas kurang lebih 0,6 hektare dengan sekitar 3.000 batang tanaman, kelompok tani setempat mampu menghasilkan sekitar 16 ton melon berkualitas tinggi.
Tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan pasar lokal, hasil panen juga telah dipasarkan ke Kota Jambi, Batam, hingga Jakarta. Bahkan, produk melon dari Desa Kuala Dasal dipercaya menjadi salah satu pemasok Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) di Kecamatan Keritang, Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, dengan jumlah pasokan mencapai 600 kilogram.
Dalam sambutannya, Bupati Anwar Sadat menyampaikan apresiasi kepada kelompok tani, pemerintah desa, penyuluh pertanian, serta seluruh pihak yang telah berkolaborasi mengembangkan budidaya melon hingga mampu menjadi salah satu komoditas unggulan daerah.
Menurut Bupati, keberhasilan tersebut membuktikan bahwa masyarakat desa memiliki kemampuan untuk berinovasi dan mengembangkan sektor pertanian bernilai ekonomi tinggi apabila dikelola secara serius dan berkelanjutan.
«"Apa yang kita rayakan hari ini bukan sekadar panen melon, tetapi menjadi bukti bahwa masyarakat desa mampu berinovasi dan melahirkan sumber pertumbuhan ekonomi baru. Keberhasilan ini harus menjadi inspirasi bagi desa-desa lain di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat," ujar Bupati.»
Bupati menilai sektor hortikultura memiliki prospek yang sangat menjanjikan sebagai upaya diversifikasi ekonomi desa. Selama ini Tanjung Jabung Barat dikenal sebagai daerah perkebunan kelapa sawit dan karet, namun keberhasilan Desa Kuala Dasal menunjukkan bahwa komoditas hortikultura juga mampu memberikan nilai tambah yang tinggi bagi masyarakat.
Karena itu, Pemerintah Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat terus mendorong pengembangan berbagai komoditas unggulan melalui konsep One Village One Product, sehingga setiap desa memiliki produk andalan yang mampu meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat sekaligus memperkuat ketahanan ekonomi daerah.
Bupati juga mengakui masih terdapat tantangan dalam pengembangan usaha hortikultura, khususnya keterbatasan lahan budidaya. Menanggapi aspirasi kelompok tani yang ingin mengembangkan kawasan hortikultura terpadu seluas sekitar lima hektare, Pemerintah Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat akan membangun komunikasi dan menjajaki kerja sama dengan perusahaan-perusahaan yang beroperasi di wilayah tersebut, termasuk PT WKS dan mitra usaha lainnya, sesuai ketentuan peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku.
Selain perluasan lahan, Bupati juga menekankan pentingnya membangun sistem agribisnis yang terintegrasi dari hulu hingga hilir. Menurutnya, petani saat ini tidak hanya dituntut mampu menghasilkan produk berkualitas, tetapi juga harus menguasai teknologi, menjaga standar mutu, memperkuat kemasan produk, membangun merek dagang, serta memanfaatkan pemasaran digital agar mampu bersaing di pasar yang lebih luas.
Sementara itu, Ketua Kelompok Tani, Darmaji, mengungkapkan rasa syukur atas keberhasilan panen perdana tersebut. Ia menyebut tingginya permintaan pasar menjadi motivasi bagi kelompok tani untuk terus meningkatkan produksi. Namun, keterbatasan lahan masih menjadi kendala utama dalam melakukan ekspansi usaha.
Menurut Darmaji, apabila dukungan lahan dapat direalisasikan melalui kerja sama dengan berbagai pihak, produksi melon diproyeksikan dapat meningkat hingga sekitar 30 ton per musim tanam. Ia berharap keberhasilan budidaya melon di Desa Kuala Dasal dapat menjadi contoh bagi desa-desa lain dalam mengembangkan sektor hortikultura yang mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani.
Mengakhiri sambutannya, Bupati mengajak seluruh masyarakat untuk terus menjaga semangat gotong royong, inovasi, dan kolaborasi dalam membangun sektor pertanian modern. Ia optimistis desa-desa di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat mampu menjadi pusat pertumbuhan ekonomi baru yang berbasis pada potensi lokal dan ketahanan pangan.
Turut hadir pada kegiatan tersebut Asisten I Setda Tanjung Jabung Barat H. Johan Hendri Bororing, S.STP., Kepala Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika, Kepala Dinas Sosial, Kepala Dinas Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura, Kepala Dinas Ketahanan Pangan, Kepala Pelaksana BPBD, Kepala Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil, Camat Muara Papalik, Sekretaris Kecamatan Tungkal Ulu beserta unsur Forkopimcam, Kepala Desa Kuala Dasal, para kepala desa dan lurah se-Kecamatan Tungkal Ulu, perwakilan PT WKS, PT Agrowiyana, PT MAKIN, para penyuluh pertanian, kelompok tani, tokoh masyarakat, tokoh pemuda, insan pers, serta tamu undangan lainnya.
