MERANGIN — melanjutkan rangkaian kunjungan kerja (kunker) di Kecamatan Muara Siau, Bupati Merangin M. Syukur memimpin langsung aksi penanaman pohon di Hutan Rio Kemunyang, Desa Durian Rambun, Minggu (6/9). Langkah ini dilakukan Pemerintah Kabupaten Merangin guna memperkuat komitmen pelestarian kawasan hutan di wilayah hulu. Kegiatan reboisasi secara simbolis tersebut dihadiri oleh jajaran anggota DPRD Kabupaten Merangin, para kepala organisasi perangkat daerah (OPD), Camat Muara Siau, serta para kepala desa se-Kecamatan Muara Siau yang turut mendampingi agenda kunker bupati. Jenis vegetasi yang ditanam mencakup kombinasi tanaman pelindung tanah dan tanaman produktif bernilai ekonomi, di antaranya mahoni, tampui, durian, dan berbagai tanaman lainnya. Bupati M. Syukur menuturkan, penanaman pohon ini merupakan bagian dari strategi Pemkab Merangin dalam menjaga fungsi ekologis kawasan hulu di sela-sela peninjauan kerja ke wilayah kecamatan. Menurutnya, kawasan hulu Muara Siau memegang peranan vital sebagai penyangga tata air dan pencegah potensi bencana hidro-meteorologi di wilayah hilir. "Hutan Desa Rio Kemunyang di Durian Rambun memiliki fungsi ekosistem yang sangat strategis. Penanaman pohon ini merupakan upaya preventif untuk menjaga ketersediaan air, mencegah banjir dan tanah longsor, serta menjamin keberlanjutan lingkungan bagi generasi mendatang," ujarnya. Bupati M. Syukur juga mengingatkan pentingnya pengawasan pascapenanaman agar bibit vegetasi yang telah ditanam dapat tumbuh optimal. "Pemerintah daerah tidak hanya mendorong kegiatan penanaman, tetapi juga memastikan proses perawatan berkala. Ke depan, reboisasi akan diintegrasikan dengan program pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat agar perlindungan hutan dapat berjalan beriringan dengan peningkatan kesejahteraan warga," sebutnya.
