KUALA TUNGKAL, — Forum Aliansi Jurnalis Lokal dan Nasional se-Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat mengecam keras peristiwa dugaan penganiayaan dan pengeroyokan terhadap jurnalis Eka Rizki Rohman yang terjadi di Desa Teluk Ketapang, Kecamatan Senyerang, pada Selasa (25/8/2026). Aliansi mendesak Polres Tanjab Barat mengusut tuntas kasus tersebut dan meminta pertanggungjawaban hukum pelaku.
Peristiwa itu diduga dilakukan oleh sejumlah oknum perangkat desa saat korban sedang menjalankan tugas jurnalistik di lapangan. Atas kejadian tersebut, insan pers yang tergabung dalam Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI), Perkumpulan Jurnalis Siber (PJS), Serikat Media Siber Indonesia (SMSI), Jaringan Media Siber Indonesia (JMSI), Ikatan Wartawan Online (IWO), Aliansi Wartawan Indonesia (AWI), Aliansi Wartawan Siber Indonesia (AWASI), serta SERWDUK menyatakan sikap bersama dan menegaskan: tindakan kekerasan terhadap jurnalis tidak dapat dibenarkan dengan alasan apa pun.
“Wartawan dalam menjalankan tugasnya dilindungi oleh undang-undang. Jika terdapat keberatan terhadap pemberitaan atau aktivitas jurnalistik, seharusnya ditempuh melalui mekanisme hukum dan prosedur yang berlaku, bukan dengan tindakan kekerasan,” tegas pernyataan sikap Forum Aliansi Jurnalis Lokal dan Nasional Tanjab Barat.
Aliansi menegaskan, tidak boleh ada ruang bagi siapa pun untuk menyelesaikan persoalan dengan cara kekerasan terhadap wartawan. Setiap pihak yang merasa dirugikan oleh pemberitaan atau aktivitas jurnalistik memiliki mekanisme yang sah untuk ditempuh, termasuk hak jawab, hak koreksi, serta pengaduan kepada Dewan Pers sesuai dengan ketentuan peraturan perundang-undangan.
“Kekerasan bukan mekanisme penyelesaian sengketa pers. Pengeroyokan bukan hak jawab. Penganiayaan bukan hak koreksi.”
Aliansi mengingatkan bahwa kerja jurnalistik mendapatkan perlindungan berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 40 Tahun 1999 tentang Pers.
Dalam Pasal 4 ayat (1) UU Pers ditegaskan: “Kemerdekaan pers dijamin sebagai hak asasi warga negara.”
Pasal 4 ayat (3) UU Pers menyebutkan: “Untuk menjamin kemerdekaan pers, pers nasional mempunyai hak mencari, memperoleh, dan menyebarluaskan gagasan dan informasi.”
Sementara itu, Pasal 8 UU Pers menegaskan: “Dalam melaksanakan profesinya wartawan mendapat perlindungan hukum.”
Aliansi juga menyoroti Pasal 18 ayat (1) UU Pers, yang mengatur ancaman pidana terhadap pihak yang secara melawan hukum dengan sengaja menghambat atau menghalangi pelaksanaan ketentuan Pasal 4 ayat (2) dan/atau ayat (3), dengan ancaman pidana penjara paling lama 2 tahun atau denda paling banyak Rp500 juta.
“Jika dugaan kekerasan ini berkaitan dengan aktivitas korban dalam menjalankan tugas jurnalistik, maka aparat penegak hukum harus mendalami secara serius apakah terdapat unsur menghambat atau menghalangi kerja pers sebagaimana diatur dalam UU Pers, di samping dugaan tindak pidana lainnya,” tegas aliansi.
Aliansi meminta Polres Tanjab Barat segera mengusut seluruh pihak yang diduga terlibat dalam peristiwa tersebut, mengumpulkan bukti dan keterangan saksi secara objektif, serta memberikan kepastian hukum kepada korban.
“Kami tidak ingin kasus kekerasan terhadap jurnalis ini berhenti di tengah jalan. Jangan sampai muncul kesan bahwa pelaku kekerasan terhadap wartawan dapat lolos tanpa pertanggungjawaban hukum,” tegas Forum Aliansi Jurnalis Lokal dan Nasional Tanjab Barat.
Aliansi menilai aparat penegak hukum harus memberikan perhatian serius terhadap kasus tersebut. Polres Tanjab Barat diminta melakukan penyelidikan dan penyidikan secara profesional, objektif, dan transparan, serta menindak pihak-pihak yang terbukti terlibat sesuai ketentuan hukum yang berlaku.
“Jangan sampai kekerasan terhadap jurnalis yang sedang menjalankan tugas menjadi preseden buruk. Negara harus hadir memberikan perlindungan kepada wartawan dalam menjalankan profesinya,” lanjut pernyataan tersebut.
Aliansi juga menegaskan kasus ini bukan sekadar masalah perorangan, melainkan ancaman terhadap kebebasan pers yang merupakan salah satu pilar demokrasi. Forum berkomitmen akan terus mengawal proses penanganan perkara ini hingga memperoleh kejelasan hukum dan kepastian bagi korban.
Hingga berita ini diturunkan, kasus dugaan penganiayaan terhadap jurnalis Eka Rizki Rohman masih dalam tahap penyelidikan pihak kepolisian. Masyarakat dan kalangan jurnalis berharap ada perkembangan signifikan dan transparan dalam proses hukum yang berjalan.
