TANJAB BARAT – Wakil Bupati Tanjung Jabung Barat, Dr. H. Katamso, S.A., S.E., M.E., secara resmi menerima kunjungan kerja Tenaga Ahli Menteri Bidang Food Estate Kementerian Pertanian (Kementan) RI, Letjen TNI (Purn) Ida Bagus Purwalaksana, di Ruang Kerja Wakil Bupati, Jumat (22/05/2026).
Kunjungan ini menjadi momentum penting bagi Pemkab Tanjab Barat untuk memperkuat sinergi dengan pemerintah pusat dalam mempercepat realisasi swasembada pangan daerah serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani melalui program-program pertanian yang lebih terintegrasi dan berkelanjutan.
Fokus pada Tiga Program Unggulan: Kopi, Padi, dan Kelapa
Dalam pemaparannya, pihak Kementan RI menyampaikan bahwa peninjauan difokuskan pada tiga program strategis yang dinilai memiliki potensi besar bagi perekonomian Tanjab Barat:
1. Peningkatan Kualitas Pembibitan Kopi: Memastikan kuantitas dan kualitas bibit kopi unggul sebelum didistribusikan kepada petani. Langkah ini bertujuan untuk mendongkrak produktivitas dan nilai jual kopi lokal, sekaligus memperkuat identitas Tanjab Barat sebagai salah satu sentra kopi berkualitas di Sumatera.
2. Optimalisasi Lahan (Oplah) Padi 2024: Mendorong peningkatan Indeks Pertanaman (IP) dari sebelumnya hanya 1 kali tanam per tahun menjadi menuju 3 kali tanam (IP 300). Target ambisius ini diharapkan dapat mewujudkan swasembada pangan daerah secara mandiri dan mengurangi ketergantungan pada pasokan beras dari luar daerah.
3. Perlindungan Harga Komoditas Kelapa: Mengingat mayoritas masyarakat Tanjab Barat adalah petani kelapa, isu stabilitas harga menjadi perhatian utama.
Usulan Strategis Pemkab: Infrastruktur Air & Floor Price Kelapa
Menanggapi paparan tersebut, Wabup Katamso tidak hanya menyambut baik rencana Kementan, tetapi juga mengajukan dua usulan krusial yang dinilai mendesak demi keberlanjutan hajat hidup para petani:
1. Revitalisasi Sistem Pengairan di Daerah Rawan Banjir
Wabup Katamso menekankan bahwa bantuan bibit unggul dari pusat akan sia-sia jika infrastruktur pendukungnya tidak memadai. Ia memohon bantuan perbaikan sistem pengairan dan normalisasi sungai di beberapa kecamatan yang rawan banjir dan genangan, seperti Kecamatan Pengabuan, Bram Itam, hingga Batara.
"Genangan air yang berkepanjangan akibat buruknya drainase sering menyebabkan bibit padi mati atau gagal panen. Oleh karena itu, revitalisasi infrastruktur sungai adalah prasyarat mutlak agar program IP 300 bisa berjalan sukses," tegas Wabup Katamso.
2. Penetapan Harga Dasar (Floor Price) Kelapa Minimal Rp5.000/Butir
Usulan kedua yang paling mendapat sorotan adalah permintaan penetapan harga dasar (floor price) untuk komoditas kelapa. Pemkab mengusulkan kebijakan floor price minimal Rp5.000,- per butir.
"Mengingat kelapa adalah tulang punggung ekonomi sebagian besar masyarakat kami, fluktuasi harga pasar yang ekstrem sangat merugikan petani. Dengan adanya floor price, kita bisa menjamin pendapatan minimum petani dan menjaga stabilitas sosial-ekonomi di pedesaan," ujar Wabup Katamso.
Respon Positif dari Pusat
Letjen TNI (Purn) Ida Bagus Purwalaksana mengapresiasi usulan strategis yang disampaikan oleh Pemkab Tanjab Barat. Ia menyatakan bahwa masukan mengenai infrastruktur pengairan dan perlindungan harga komoditas akan dibawa ke tingkat menteri untuk ditindaklanjuti melalui koordinasi dengan Direktorat Jenderal Prasarana dan Sarana Pertanian serta Badan Ketahanan Pangan.
"Kami memahami bahwa keberhasilan food estate dan swasembada pangan tidak hanya soal bibit, tapi juga infrastruktur dan kepastian harga. Usulan Bapak Wabup sangat konstruktif dan akan kami perjuangkan di Jakarta," katanya.
Kunjungan ini ditutup dengan kesepakatan untuk membentuk tim teknis gabungan antara Pemkab Tanjab Barat dan Kementan RI guna memantau progres perbaikan irigasi dan menyusun kajian kelayakan penerapan floor price kelapa di wilayah tersebut.
Dengan langkah konkret ini, diharapkan Tanjab Barat tidak hanya mencapai swasembada pangan, tetapi juga menciptakan ekosistem pertanian yang adil, sejahtera, dan berkelanjutan bagi seluruh petaninya.
