TANJAB BARAT – Bupati Tanjung Jabung Barat, Drs. H. Anwar Sadat, M.Ag., menegaskan komitmennya dalam meningkatkan indeks literasi daerah dengan menginstruksikan seluruh Kepala Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD) di lingkungan Pemerintah Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat untuk menjadi teladan dalam membudayakan gemar membaca.
Hal tersebut disampaikan Bupati saat mengukuhkan Bunda Literasi Kabupaten dan Kecamatan se-Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat periode 2026–2030 yang digelar di Balai Pertemuan Kantor Bupati, Rabu (13/05).
Dalam pengukuhan tersebut, Hj. Fadhilah Sadat, S.H., resmi dikukuhkan sebagai Bunda Literasi Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat periode 2026–2030.
Dalam arahannya, Bupati menekankan bahwa Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN), khususnya pejabat eselon II, harus menjadi lokomotif penggerak literasi. Ia mewajibkan setiap Kepala Dinas untuk memiliki kartu anggota perpustakaan daerah dan menjadwalkan kunjungan rutin ke perpustakaan.
“Minimal seluruh Kepala Dinas wajib memiliki kartu perpustakaan daerah dan rutin berkunjung ke perpustakaan. Kita ingin membangun masyarakat yang gemar membaca, dan itu harus dimulai dari pimpinan instansinya terlebih dahulu,” tegas Bupati.
Bupati menambahkan bahwa langkah ini diambil sebagai respons terhadap masih rendahnya tingkat kegemaran membaca di tengah masyarakat. Menurutnya, perpustakaan bukan sekadar gudang buku, melainkan ujung tombak inovasi dan kreativitas masyarakat. Untuk mendukung hal tersebut, Pemkab Tanjab Barat juga terus mendorong pengembangan perpustakaan digital guna mempermudah akses ilmu pengetahuan bagi warga.
Selain menyoroti peran pejabat, Bupati juga mengingatkan pentingnya peran keluarga sebagai unit terkecil dalam membentuk karakter anak. Ia menyebutkan bahwa Bunda Literasi yang baru dikukuhkan memiliki tugas berat untuk menghidupkan budaya membaca di rumah tangga.
“Kalau bapaknya dan mamaknya tidak pernah membaca buku, sulit kita berharap anak-anak kita gemar membaca. Maka orang tua harus memberi contoh terlebih dahulu. Keteladanan adalah kunci utama dalam literasi,” ujarnya di hadapan para hadirin.
Acara pengukuhan ini dihadiri oleh Wakil Bupati Tanjung Jabung Barat, Sekretaris Daerah, para Staf Ahli, Kepala OPD, Ketua GOW, Ketua DWP, perwakilan Kepala Balai Provinsi Jambi, para Camat beserta istri, serta Duta Baca dan relawan literasi masyarakat.
