BANGKO – Pemerintah Kabupaten Merangin tengah serius memoles kawasan objek wisata Arboretum Rio Alip di Dusun Mudo, Bangko, menjadi destinasi unggulan.
Bupati Merangin, M. Syukur, baru-baru ini meninjau langsung progres perbaikan fasilitas guna memastikan kesiapan kawasan tersebut menyambut penghuni baru.
Dalam kunjungannya, Bupati menuturkan bahwa akses utama menuju kawasan tersebut kini telah jauh lebih baik. Jalan di gerbang Arboretum Rio yang sebelumnya rusak, saat ini telah mulus dengan lapisan aspal baru.
Selain infrastruktur jalan, kandang rusa dan kandang buaya yang sebelumnya rusak juga telah selesai direnovasi.
Bupati M. Syukur menargetkan Arboretum Rio Alip bertransformasi menjadi taman kota dengan konsep kebun binatang mini (mini zoo). Dengan luas lahan mencapai 75 hektar, kawasan ini diharapkan menjadi pusat wisata keluarga dan edukasi yang terjangkau karena lokasinya yang dekat dengan pusat kota.
"Ini saya lihat kandang rusa pengerjaannya sudah selesai. Insyaallah dalam waktu dekat rusanya akan datang. Kita harapkan ini menjadi pusat wisata kota, semacam kebun binatang mini di dalam Arboretum," ujar Bupati M. Syukur.
Selain menawarkan koleksi binatang, Arboretum Rio Alip juga menyuguhkan daya tarik alami berupa hutan kota yang asri dan air terjun. Bupati menilai potensi udara bersih di lokasi tersebut sangat cocok untuk kegiatan olahraga maupun santai.
Kabar baiknya, pengisian fauna di kawasan ini mendapat dukungan dari pihak swasta. Bupati mengungkapkan bahwa pihaknya mendapatkan hibah sepuluh ekor rusa dari seorang pengusaha ternama asal Medan, Rahmat Syah.
"Kita terima kasih disumbang oleh sahabat saya di Medan, Pak Rahmat Syah. Beliau kasih kita sekitar 10 ekor dari beberapa jenis rusa. Ini diberikan secara gratis untuk warga Merangin," tambahnya.
Kedepannya, Pemkab Merangin akan terus memperbaiki fasilitas pendukung lainnya secara bertahap, termasuk kandang buaya dan area burung. Fokus utama pemerintah saat ini adalah menjadikan Arboretum Rio Alip sebagai prioritas wisata kota yang mengedepankan edukasi tentang hutan dan pepohonan bagi generasi muda.
