Wabup bersama rombongan begitu sampai di lokasi kebaran, langsung merangkul Hendri Maryanto kepala keluarga korban kebakaran di RT 12 RW 06 Kelurahan Pasar Atas Bangko, yang terjadi pada Senin (20/10), sekitar pukul 04.45 Wib tersebut.
Di atas puing-puing yang terbakar itu, wabup mengucapkan rasa duka yang mendalam kepada Hendri Maryanto dan keluarga, atas peristiwa kebakaran yang sempat menggegerkan warga Pasar Atas dan sekitarnya.
 ‘’Saya atas nama bupati Merangin dan masyarakat turut berduka sekali terhadap peristiwa kebakaran ini. Tiada kata lain kecuali pasrah kepada Allah dan semoga harta yang sudah hilang bisa cepat kembali lagi,’’ujar Wabup kepada Hendri Maryanto.
Pada kesempatan itu wabup memberikan bantuan dana pribadi dan bantuan sembako berikut kebutuhan sehari-hari dari Dinas Sosial Merangin, seperti satu paket Kids Were 2024, satu set Family Kit 2024, satu set Kasur 2024 dan tenda gulung 2024.
‘’Tolong jangan dilihat dari nilai bantuannya, tapi ini merupakan keperdulian Pemkab Merangin terhadap warga yang mengalami musibah kebakaran. Semoga bantuan ini sedikit membantu duka dari keluarga korban,’’terang Wabup.
Sementara itu Hendri Maryanto mengaku sangat berterimakasih kepada Pemkab Merangin atas bantuan yang diberikan. Diceritakan bapak tiga anak tersebut, rumah sewa yang terbakar itu sekaligus bengkel tempat usahanya.
‘’Kalau kerugian mencapai ratusan juta, selain dua sepeda motor kami, ada juga beberapa sepeda motor orang yang belum selesai kami perbaiki, semua terbakar habis. Tak satupun harta terselamatkan, hanya selembarm baju di badan,’’terang Hendri Maryanto.
