Bangko- Wakil Bupati Merangin H A Khafihd, melepas Pawai Ketahanan Pangan dalam rangka peringatan Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) ke-45 Desa Meranti Kecamatan Renah Pamenang, Minggu (05/10).
Pawai yang menampilkan berbagai hasil panen segar perkebunan masyarakat setempat yang ditontonkan dalam berbagai bentuk tersebut, berlangsung sangat meriah. Ribuan warga antusias  membajiri lokasi pawai.
‘’Alhamdulillah, ini kali pertama diadakan Pawai Ketahanan Pangan di Kabupaten Merangin. Pawai ini sangat luar biasa, karena menyajikan hasil panen yang masih sangat seger langsung dipetik dari kebun masyarakat,’’ujar Wabup.
Wabup sangat mengapresiasi sekali terselenggaranya Pawai Ketahanan Pangan yang dilakukan warga desa, yang sangat mencintai desanya dalam memeriahkan HUT ke-45 Desa Merangin tersebut.
Hasil panen yang melimpah dipamerkan pada pawai itu, tidak hanya berupa sayur-sayuran, tapi juga buah-buahan dan komoditi pertanian lainnya. Diakui wabup, berbagai produk pertanian itulah yang selama ini menjadi andalan pendapatan warga setempat.
Wabup berharap Pawai Ketahanan Pangan itu, menjadi agenda tahunan Desa Merangin yang dapat ditiru oleh desa-desa lainnya dalam Kabupaten Merangin yang memiliki banyak potensi pertanian.
Melalui Pawai Ketahanan Pangan itu terang wabup, masyarakat akan semakin terpacu dalam meningkatkan hasil panen pertaniannya. Semua itu pada akhirnya akan mampu meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat.
Serangkaian kegiatan HUT ke-45 Desa Meranti yang sudah berlangsung sejak  beberapa pekan lalu itu diwarnai dengan berbagai kegiatan, diantarnya lomba desain Logo Desa Meranti, lomba volly antar RT semi open Renah Pamenang.
Tidak hanya itu, juga diadakan lomba masak Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT), lomba jalan sehat, lomba Kesling, lomba pawai ketahanan pangan, lomba pentas seni pertunjukan dan lomba karaoke.
