Ada sebanyak 22 unit Handtraktor yang diserahkan bupati kepada para kelompok tani dari berbagai kecamatan tersebut. Setiap kelompok taninya mempunyai garapan lahan antara lima sampai 40 hektar.
‘’Alhamdulillah Dinas Tanaman Pangan dan Holtikultura telah membagi-bagi handtraktor ini, sehingga pagi ini saya bersama wabup dan unsur Forkopimda sudah bisa menyerahkannya kepada para kelompok tani tersebu,’’ujar Bupati, Selasa (01/10).
Bupati berharap dengan diserahkannya handtraktor itu, akan menambah hasil panen. Kalau selama ini hanya tanam setahun sekali, sekarang melalui bantuan handtraktor itu, bisa tanam sampai tiga kali setahun.
Jadi lanjut bupati, setelah nanti panen, tanam lagi, panen lagi, tanam lagi dan panen lagi. ‘’Hal ini tentunya sesuai dengan harapan program Asta Cita Pak Presiden Prabowo untuk ketahanan pangan nasional,’’terang Bupati.
Bantuan Handtraktor tersebut jelas H M Syukur, merupakan bentuk komitmen Pemerintah Pusat terhadap daerah, untuk membantu para petani-petani di Kabupaten Merangin, terutama yang berada di desa-desa.
Sebanyak 22 unit Handtraktor itu, diterima Kabupaten Merangin dari Kementerian Pertanian, atas janji Menteri Pertanian Andi Amran Sulaiman kepada Bupati Merangin H M Syukur, ketika menghadiri peringatan Hari Pertanian di Kota Sungaipenuh sebulan lalu.
