Hal tersebut  dikatakan Bupati H M Syukur, didampingi Wabup H A Khafidh, Pj Sekda Zulhifni dan Kepala BKPSDMD Ferdi Firdaus, ketika menerima audensi para tenaga honor tersebut, di Ruang rapat kantor bupati Merangin, Rabu (24/9).
‘’Kalau surat pada tanggal, 05 Juni 2025 sudah saya kirim ke Menteri PAN-RB RI, artinya lebih duluan. Saya juga sudah diskusi berdua dengan Wamen PAN-RB Purwadi Arianto ketika berkunjung ke Jambi,’’ujar Bupati.
Pada diskusi itu, bupati hanya minta kepastian hukum dari Wamen PAN-RB,  untuk membayar gaji sebanyak 220 orang Tenaga Honorer tersebut. Supaya bupati punya dasar untuk membayar gaji itu, sehingga nantinya tidak bermasalah.
‘’Saya tanya lagi, boleh tidak saya bayar gaji itu. Nah itu, saya tunggu sampai hari ini belum juga ada kabar. Saya akan terus berusaha mendapatkan jawaban itu, kalau belum juga akan saya susul ke Jakarta,’’terang Bupati.
Seandainya kasus ini terjadi di swasta jelas bupati, akan langsung dibayarnya paling pimpinan yang rugi. Tapi di Pemerintahan ini tidak bisa, ada sanksi hukum, siapa yang mengeluarkan anggaran itu yang kena.
‘’Oke misalnya adik-adik para honor ini pakai berjanjian, jika bemasalah gajinya akan dikembalikan. Tapi Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan tidak mengurus perorangan, tapi siapa yang memberi izin mengeluarkan anggaran itu,’’jelas Bupati.
Kondisi pembayaran gaji itu diakui bupati semakin rumit, karena jumlah tenaga honorer tersebut, dari waktu ke waktu terus berubah-ubah. Bupati memprediksikan apakah benar ada ‘permainan’ disitu.
 ‘’Ada yang WhatsApp ke saya, jumlah tenaga honor 1.600 orang, tenaga honor yang mana lagi ini. Ada lagi info non ASN lebih dari dua tahun 1.256 orang. Terus muncul lagi angka 3.500 tenaga honorer yang diusulkan separo waktu,’’terang Bupati kian bingung.
Hal itu juga sudah didiskusikan bupati ke Wamen PAN-RB Purwadi Arianto. Wamen mengatakan jika hal itu positif terjadi, Tim dari PAN-RB RI bersama Mabes Polri akan turun ke Merangin, untuk memastikan jumlah dan proses hukum data bodong itu.
Bupati juga telah melaporkan penambahan data misterius itu ke Gubernur Jambi dan bupati sepakat dilaporkan untuk proses hukumnya. Untuk itu, bupati minta sebanyak 220 orang Tenaga Honorer yang bekerja di atas dua tahun, yang ikut seleksi CPNS 2024 dan tidak masuk database, untuk bersabar sambil menunggu kepastian hukum yang jelas.
