Bangko-Ada yang menarik pada pelaksanaan Apel Besar Kedisiplinan para pegawai di jajaran Pemkab Merangin, yang digelar tanggal 17 setiap bulannya di halaman depan kantor bupati Merangin, Senin (17/9).
Usai apal yang diikuti ribuan pegawai tersebut, Bupati Merangin H M Syukur bersama Wabup H A Khafidh dan Pj Sekda Zulhifni, tiba-tiba secara mendadak turun langsung ke lapangan di depan peserta apel. 
Didepan barisan para peserta apel itu, bupati didampingi wabup dan pj sekda, melakukan absen langsung, dengan memanggil setiap nama pegawai yang telah menandatangani absen.
‘’Saya ingin mengecek, apakah pegawai yang menandatangani absen benar-benar hadir pada apel besar ini. Ternyata dibarisan pejabat eselon tiga ini, semua yang menandatangani absen hadir semua. Terimakasih,’’ujar Bupati.
Secara bergilir, bupati bersama wabup dan pj sekda mendatangi satu persatu barisan setiap Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD), untuk melakukan absen langsung tersebut. Dari absen pegawai di setiap OPD tersebut, bupati menemukan beberapa kasus.
Kasus itu, mulai dari dua tandatangan yang sama tapi beda nama, absen ditandatangani namun ketika dipanggil orangnya tidak ada, hingga absen tidak ditandatangani namun tidak diketahui alasan ketidak hadirannya.
Pada Apel Besar itu, bupati memberikan reward kepada perangkat daerah yang mencapai kehadiran pegawainya mencapai 99 persen, pada pelaksanaan Apel Besar Peningkatan Kedisiplinan Pegawai bulan sebelumnya.
Dinas Kominfo menjadi OPD terbaik diperingkat atas pencapaian absen kehadiran 99 persen pegawainya. Di uruatan kedua disusul BKPSDMD, ke-3 Inspektorat, ke-4 Badan Pengelola Pajak dan Retribusi Daerah.
Sedangkan diurutan ke-5 Dinas Koperasi, UKM, Perdagangan dan Perindustrian (DKUKMPP), ke-6 Dinas Penanaman Modal, Pelayanan satu pintu dan tenaga kerja (DPMPTSP-TK) serta ke-7 Perumda Tirta Merangin. Reward yang diberikan berupa piagam.
