‘’Terimakasih Bapak Kapolri, Pak Kapolres Merangin bersama seluruh jajarannya, yang telah membantu masyarakat Kabupaten Merangin, untuk meningkatkan ketahanan pangan, dengan menanam jagung program Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo’’ujar Wabup.
Wabup berharap jagung yang ditanam tersebut, nanti hasilnya bisa maksimal. Pada triwulan pertama tanam jagung di Merangin telah dipanen seluas 116 hektar di desa-desa dalam Kecamatan Muara Siau dan desa-desa lainnya.
‘’Jadi dari jagung yang sudah dipanen di Kabupaten Merangin itu, untuk satu hektarnya bisa menghasilkan antara lima sampai enam ton. Jumlah itu akan terus bertambah jika perawatan dan pemupukan terus dilakukan,’’terang Wabup.
Sementara itu Kapolres Merangin AKBP Kiki Firmansyah mengatakan, semua Forkopimda Merangin dan semua unsur terkait tanam jagung serentak program Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo di Kabupaten Merangin telah sepakat dan berkomitmen.
‘’Jadi dalam hal tanam jagung serentak ini kami telah sepakat menandatangani komitmen bersama, untuk satu desa satu hektar tanam jagung pada semester kedua ini. Mudah-mudahan nanti hasilnya akan maksimal,’’ujar Kapolres.
Tampak hadir pada penanaman jagung itu, Plt Kadis Tanaman Pangan dan Holtikultura Merangin Mujiburrahman, Kapolsek Bangko Ramadhan Agus Setiansah, Camat Nalo Tantan Agus Salim, Kepala Desa Mentawak Abu Bakar dan ratusan warga.
