‘’Melalui kegiatan Global Tiger Day 2025 ini kita diingatkan untuk bersama menjaga lestari, baik lingkungan, hutan maupun hewan terutama Harimau Sumatera. Semua berupaya  Harimau Sumatera di kawasan hutan Merangin tidak punah,’’ujar Bupati.
Global Tiger Day 2025 lanjut bupati, semakin menumbhkan kesadaran bersama, bahwa Harimau Sumatera itu merupakan satu-satunya kekataan yang luar biasa, yang  harus dijaga, dirawat dan jangan sampai punah.
‘’Kita harus memberi ruang untuk tempat hidup Harimau Sumatera, sehingga keberadaanya tetap terjaga dengan baik sampai anak cucu kita kedepan. Jangan sampai ada perburuan liar hewan-hewan yang dilindungi,’’pinta Bupati.
Kepala BKSDA Provinsi Jambi Agung Nugroho menambahkan, Global Tiger Day salah satu upaya mengkampanyekan konservari Harimau Sumatera dan habitatnya yang harus dilindungi.
‘’Populasi Harimau Sumatera se-Sumatera diperkirakan antara 400 sapai 600 ekor. Merangin salah satu kabupaten terpenting, karena ada TNKS bagi ruang kehidupan Harimau Sumatera,’’ujar Agung Nugroho.
Dengan melindungi Harimau Sumatera lanjut Agung Nugraha, bearti melindungi habitatnya. Dengan melindungi habitatnya bearti melindungi ekosistem yang penting untuk kehidupan semua.
Harimau Sumatera terang Kepala BKSDA, merupakan satwa liar yang membutuhkan tempat hidup, jadi harus berbagi ruang dengan Harimau Sumatera. Bila melihat keberadaan Harimau Sumatera bisa cepat melapor ke KSDA.
Sementara itu, pada lomba Lari lima kilometer peserta termuda atas nama Gilang (7) kelas 1 SDN 2 Merangin dan peserta tertua General Manager Geopark Merangin-Jambi Agus Zainudin (61).
Pemenang untuk kategori putra, juara pertama Ali Guna Ritonga peserta nomor 116 dari OI Ogan Ilir Kesatuan Brigif 8 Garuda Sakti 14,00 menit berhak atas hadiah Rp 3,5 juta, juara dua Noval tito Ogan Ilir peseta nomor 077 dari Kesatuan Brigif 8 Garuda Sakti dengan waktu 15 menit berhak atas hadiah Rp 2,5 juta dan juara tiga Alek Maulana perta nomor 058 dari Jambi dengan waktu 15,11 menit berhak atas hadiah Rp 1,5 juta.
Untuk kategori putri penenangnya, juara pertama Syaza Nazila peserta nomor 169 dari Tebo dengan waktu 17,70 menit berhak atas hadiah Rp 3,5 juta, juara dua Nurhafiza peerta nomor 261 dari Bungo dengan waktu 18,6 menit berhak atas hadiah Rp 2,5 juta dan juara tiga Fiska Putri Putri peserta nomor 176 dari Bungo dengan waktu 20 menit berhak atas hadiah Rp 1,5 juta.\
Lari lima kilomeger itu menempuh rute, Star di Jalan jalur dua depan Kantor Dinas Kominfo Merangin, lanjut ke jembatan layang, belok kiri ke depan Hotel Suslinda terus ke arah Telkom, lanjut ke depan Gedung DPRD Merangin, terus ke depan Kantor Bupati Merangin, belok kiri depan Kantor Dinas PU Merangin dan Finish di depan Kantor Dinas Kominfo.
