MUARABULIAN - Pemerintah Kabupaten Batang Hari saat ini terus melakukan upaya perkuatan ketahanan pangan di daerah setempat, salah satu langkah dengan mengusulkan bantuan benih padi dan jagung pada 2025. Luasan lahannya untuk dua ribu hektar yang nantinya tersebar di delapan kecamatan.
Kepala Bidang Tanaman Pangan Dinas Pangan, Pertanian dan Perikanan Kabupaten Batang Hari, Roma Uliana di Muarabulian mengatakan, bahwa usulan permintaan tersebut sesuai keinginan Bupati Batang Hari, Muhammad Fadhil Arief.
"Ssuai perintah dari Bupati Batang Hari, kita usulkan bantuan benih padi dan jagung tahun 2025 ini," katanya.
Selain memiliki ketahanan pangan berupa tanaman padi yang merupakan salah satu komoditi unggulan. Pihaknya juga merencanakan untuk menambah tanaman pangan berupa jagung.
"Mengingat potensi jagung sangatlah bermanfaat di Batang Hari," ujarnya.
Sementara itu, berdasarkan hasil pendataan dinas pangan, pertanian dan perikanan (PPP) Kabupaten Batang Hari saat ini sudah ada 291 hektar titik lahan yang masuk data verifikasi.
Dapat diketahui, untuk titik lahan yang sudah dilakukan verifikasi yaitu berada di Kecamatan Muara Tembesi enam hektar, Mersam 20 hektar, Batin XXIV 38 hektar, Bajubang 53 hektar, pemayung 14 hektar dan Maro Sebo Ilir (MSI) 105 hektar serta Maro Sebo Ulu (MSU) 14 Hektar.
