MUARABULIAN - Pemerintah Kabupaten (Pemkab) Batang Hari untuk kesekian kalinya mengusulkan bantuan alat dan mesin pertanian (Alsintan) ke Kementerian Pertanian (Kementan) RI.
Kepala Dinas Pangan Pertanian dan Perikanan Batang Hari, Farizal, SH MH melalui Kepala Bidang Tanaman Pangan, Roma Uliana mengatakan, bahwa saat ini pemerintah melalui Dinas Pangan Pertanian dan Perikanan Batang Hari mengusulkan kembali bantuan Alsintan untuk mempercepat dan mendukung capaian target tanam di wilayah Batang Hari.
"Kita baru mengusulkan kembali alat dan mesin pertanian untuk para petani," kata Roma Uliana.
Dikatakannya, usulan alsintan tersebut tidak lain bertujuan untuk mewujudkan surplus pangan di Kabupaten Batang Hari dalam rangka mendukung kedaulatan pangan yang diamanahkan oleh pemerintah Republik Indonesia.
Selain itu, sambung Roma, Pemkab Batang Hari juga mendukung mempercepat proses program swasembada pangan khususnya di Kabupaten Batang Hari," katanya.
Diakuinya, saat ini pemerintah daerah sudah melakukan pengusulan alsintan walaupun belum memenuhi target. Akan tetapi, sebagian usulan itu sudah tersampaikan kepada Kementerian Pertanian RI.
"Mudah-mudahan usulan bantuan alat pertanian itu bisa terealisasikan," harapnya.
Dijelaskannya, usulan bantuan tersebut berupa cetak sawah, pompa air, traktor, transplanter, benih jagung, benih padi dan rehabilitasi jaringan irigasi. "Nanti alat itu akan digunakan untuk padi dan jagung," tutupnya.
