SAROLANGUN, 16 Juli 2025 – Komitmen dalam mencegah terjadinya kebakaran hutan dan lahan (karhutla) terus ditunjukkan oleh Babinsa Koramil 420-02/Muara Limun, Kodim 0420/Sarko. Salah satu langkah nyata dilakukan melalui patroli rutin bersama masyarakat di wilayah-wilayah yang rawan terbakar.
Kegiatan ini salah satunya dilaksanakan oleh Babinsa Serda Rizal Ilahi di Desa Bukit Murau, Kecamatan Singkut, Kabupaten Sarolangun. Dalam patroli tersebut, Serda Rizal dan warga menyusuri area-area perkebunan yang luas, memantau potensi kemunculan titik api, serta memetakan lokasi-lokasi yang berisiko tinggi terhadap karhutla. 
“Dalam patroli kali ini, kami tidak menemukan titik api. Namun, potensi kebakaran tetap tinggi, terutama karena adanya alih fungsi lahan dari kebun karet menjadi kebun sawit. Jenis vegetasi seperti ini lebih mudah terbakar jika tersulut api,” jelas Serda Rizal Ilahi.
Selain patroli, kegiatan ini juga diisi dengan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat. Babinsa secara langsung mengimbau warga agar tidak membuka lahan dengan cara dibakar, mengingat dampaknya yang sangat merugikan, baik dari sisi kesehatan maupun lingkungan.
“Kami terus mengingatkan masyarakat agar tidak membuka lahan dengan membakar. Langkah pencegahan ini penting untuk menghindari bencana kabut asap yang bisa merugikan kita semua, terutama di Kecamatan Singkut, khususnya Desa Bukit Murau,” tambahnya.
Upaya ini merupakan bagian dari strategi pencegahan dini karhutla yang dilakukan secara berkelanjutan oleh TNI AD melalui Babinsa di wilayah binaannya. Dengan menggandeng masyarakat, diharapkan kesadaran dan kepedulian terhadap bahaya karhutla semakin meningkat.
