Bangko-Para ayah di Kabupaten Merangin sibuk mengantar anaknya pada hari pertama masuk sekolah. Gerakan  Ayah Teladan Indonesia (GATI) ini terjadi, di SD Negeri 115, SMP Negeri 4 dan semua sekolah dalam Kabupaten Merangin, Senin (14/7).
Tidak terkecuali Bupati Merangin H M Syukur, yang pukul 06.30 Wib telah bertolak dari rumah dinasnya mengantar anak ke Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) Negeri I Merangin, di kawasan Pasar Atas Bangko.
Bupati mengantar anaknya sampai ke gerbang sekolah, disambut para guru. Setelah berpamitan, H M Syukur membiarkan anaknya menyandang tas melangkahkan kaki masuk perkarangan sekolah.
Dari gerbang sekolah yang cukup apik itu, bupati sambil berjalan ke arah mobilnya, melambaikan tangan kepada Shafig Syufi Syukur (anak ketiga dari tiga bersaudara buahhati pasangan H M Syukur dengan Hj Lavita Syukur).
 ‘’GATI ini tidak hanya berdampak pada anak-anak secara emosional dan psikologis, tetapi juga menjadi syimbol keterlibatan aktif seorang ayah dalam kegiatan sehari-hari anaknya,’’ujar Bupati.
Manfaat keterlibatan ayah mengantar anak ke sekolah lanjut bupati, si-anak akan jadi lebih percaya diri, motivasi belajar anak jadi meningkat, ikatan keluarga semakin kuat dan membentuk karakter positif dan mandiri pada anak.
 Gerakan Ayah Teladan Indonesia di Kabupaten Merangin dimotori Dinas Pengendalian Penduduk dan Keluarga Berencana. Program Pemerintah Pusat ini sukses dilaksanakan di semua sekolah di Kabupaten Merangin.
GATI dilaksanakan mengacu ke Surat Edaran Menteri Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah nomor 10 tahun 2025, tentang pelaksanaan kegiatan masa pengenalan lingkungan satuan pendidikan ramah pada pendidikan anak usia dini, pendidikan dasar dan pendidikan menengah tahun ajaran sekolah 2025-2026.
Selain itu, juga mengacu ke Surat Edaran Menteri Kependudukan dan Pembangunan Keluarga/Kepala BKKBN nomor 07 tahun 2025 tentang himbauan ayah/wali murid mengantar anak hari pertama sekolah dalam mendukung Gerakan Ayah Teladan Indonesia (GATI).
Disamping itu, juga diperkuat dengan Surat Himbauan Bupati Merangin H M Syukur nomor 005/168/DPPKB/2025, tentang Gerakan Ayah Mengantar di hari pertama masuk sekolah.
