MERANGIN - Satuan Reserse Kriminal (Sat Reskrim) Polres Merangin kembali menunjukkan komitmennya dalam memberantas aktivitas Penambangan Emas Tanpa Izin (PETI) yang merusak lingkungan dan merugikan negara.
Dipimpin langsung oleh Kasat Reskrim Polres Merangin, AKP Mulyono, S.H., tim gabungan yang terdiri dari Unit Tipidter dan Tim Opsnal Reskrim melaksanakan operasi di dua titik rawan PETI, yakni Desa Tanjung Benuang, Kecamatan Pamenang Selatan dan Desa Rasau B2, Kecamatan Renah Pamenang, Kabupaten Merangin.
Operasi yang digelar pada Senin (2/6/2025) tersebut merupakan tindak lanjut atas laporan masyarakat serta pemberitaan media online yang menyoroti maraknya aktivitas tambang emas ilegal di wilayah tersebut.
Di lokasi pertama, Desa Tanjung Benuang, petugas menemukan hamparan area tambang seluas setengah hektar yang dipenuhi sekitar 20 unit mesin dompeng. Namun, saat petugas tiba, para pekerja langsung melarikan diri meninggalkan peralatan mereka, sehingga tidak satu pun pelaku berhasil diamankan.
Tak ingin peralatan tambang itu kembali digunakan, petugas pun langsung melakukan pemusnahan dengan cara menghancurkan dan membakar beberapa unit mesin dompeng yang masih berada di lokasi.
Penyisiran berlanjut ke Desa Rasau B2, Kecamatan Renah Pamenang. Meski jejak aktivitas PETI juga ditemukan, situasi serupa kembali terjadi: lokasi telah kosong dan pelaku berhasil melarikan diri sebelum petugas tiba.
Kasat Reskrim Polres Merangin, AKP Mulyono, S.H., menegaskan bahwa operasi ini merupakan bagian dari langkah berkelanjutan pihak kepolisian dalam memerangi tambang ilegal di wilayah hukumnya.
“Kegiatan ini adalah bentuk respons kami terhadap keresahan masyarakat. Kami akan terus melakukan patroli, penyisiran, dan penindakan agar aktivitas PETI tidak lagi mengancam lingkungan dan ketertiban,” ujar AKP Mulyono.
Dalam operasi tersebut, sejumlah peralatan diamankan sebagai barang bukti, dan tindakan pemusnahan langsung dilakukan di lokasi agar aktivitas penambangan tidak dapat dilakukan kembali.
Lebih lanjut Mulyono menyampaikan pesan kepada seluruh masyarakat, untuk tidak terlibat dalam aktivitas PETI dan mendorong partisipasi publik untuk melapor jika mengetahui adanya praktik tambang ilegal di sekitar mereka.
“Tanpa dukungan masyarakat, penindakan tidak akan optimal. Kami harap warga terus berperan aktif dalam menjaga keamanan dan kelestarian lingkungan,” tambahnya.
Situasi terakhir di kedua lokasi dilaporkan aman dan kondusif setelah tim petugas kembali dari lapangan.
