Merangin, 26 Mei 2025 – Pemerintah Kabupaten Merangin melalui Dinas Pendidikan secara resmi menggelar Olimpiade Olahraga Siswa Nasional (O2SN) dan Festival Lomba Seni dan Sastra Siswa Nasional (FLS2N) tahun 2025 tingkat Kabupaten, untuk jenjang SD/MI dan SMP/MTs. Ajang bergengsi ini diadakan sebagai sarana pengembangan bakat, minat, serta karakter peserta didik melalui kompetisi yang sehat di bidang olahraga, seni, dan sastra.
Kegiatan tersebut dibuka langsung oleh Sekretaris Daerah (Sekda) Kabupaten Merangin, Ir. Fajarman, yang menyampaikan apresiasi tinggi kepada seluruh siswa, guru, serta pihak yang terlibat dalam terselenggaranya acara ini.
"O2SN dan FLS2N bukan hanya ajang seleksi menuju tingkat nasional, tapi juga media penting untuk membentuk karakter anak-anak kita. Mereka belajar disiplin, sportif, kreatif, dan percaya diri," ujar Fajarman dalam sambutannya.
Kegiatan ini juga mendapat dukungan penuh dari berbagai unsur Forkopimda dan tokoh masyarakat. Hadir mewakili Kapolres Merangin, Kasat Linmas AKP Karto, serta Kasdim Mayor Inf. Usman S.Ag., M.Pdi yang hadir mewakili Dandim 0420/Sarko. Perwakilan dari Kejaksaan Negeri Merangin juga turut memberi dukungan terhadap kegiatan ini sebagai bentuk sinergi antarlembaga dalam memajukan dunia pendidikan.
Turut menyemarakkan acara, Ketua Dharma Wanita Persatuan Kabupaten Merangin Ibu Rizmila Fajarman, serta Ketua Tim Penggerak PKK Kabupaten Merangin Ibu Hj. Lavita Syukur yang keduanya memberikan semangat dan motivasi kepada para peserta lomba.
Kepala Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Merangin, H. Abd Gani, S.Pd., ME menyampaikan bahwa seluruh jenjang sekolah di Kabupaten Merangin turut ambil bagian dalam kegiatan ini. "Ini adalah momen penting untuk menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak Merangin tidak kalah bersaing di tingkat provinsi bahkan nasional," ujarnya.
Seluruh pegawai Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Merangin turut serta dalam mendukung dan menyukseskan kegiatan yang berlangsung meriah ini, sebagai bentuk komitmen nyata dalam mewujudkan pendidikan yang holistik dan berkarakter.
