MERANGIN – Polres Merangin melaksanakan kegiatan panen jagung perdana di lahan seluas 0,3 hektar pada hari ini Kamis (15/5/2025) diarea perkebunan PT. SAL Kecamatan Tabir Selatan Kabupaten Merangin. Kegiatan ini merupakan wujud nyata dukungan Polri terhadap program ketahanan pangan Asta Cita Pemerintah Indonesia.
Kapolres Merangin AKBP Roni Syahendra yang diwakili Kompol Mukhlis Gea selaku Wakapolres Merangin mengatakan kegiatan ini juga merupakan bagian dari program penanaman jagung dilahan seluas 59,1 hektar terdiri dari lahan monokultur 43,6 hektar dan tumpang sari 15,5 hektar, yang tersebar di seluruh Kabupaten Merangin sebagai upaya mendukung ketahanan pangan nasional.
"Alhamdulillah jagung yang dipanen hari ini diarea PT. SAL ditanam pada 21 Januari 2025 lalu, dengan menggunakan bibit unggul jenis hibrida CIMP 01 dari Dinas Pertanian melalui Badan Penyuluh Pertanian (BPP) Kecamatan Tabir Selatan hari ini akan dilakukan panen," katanya.
Gea menceritakan proses penanaman jagung hingga ke panen tidaklah mudah. Cuaca yang tidak menentu sempat menjadi tantangan. Namun, berkat kerja keras semua pihak akhirnya hari ini berhasil memanen sekitar 5 Ton dari lahan seluas 0,3 hektar.
"Kita apresiasi dukungan Dinas Pertanian, mitra perkebunan dan stakeholder yang terlibat dalam program ini. Dengan hasil ini menunjukkan bukti sinergi nyata menghasilkan 5 Ton dari 0,3 hektar lahan kurang dari 4 bulan masa tanam, yang nantinya hasil panen langsung dijual kepada Peternak Ayam Petelur dari Kuamang Kuning dengan harga Rp.6.500.-/kg (enam ribu lima ratus rupiah)," jelasnya.
Waka menyebut upaya ini merupakan bentuk komitmen Polri dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan nasional.
"Ke depan, Polres Merangin akan terus memperluas area tanam dan mengoptimalkan pendampingan kepada petani. Hasil panen jagung ini tidak hanya menjadi kontribusi nyata bagi negara, tetapi juga menjadi inspirasi bagi daerah lain untuk bergerak bersama mewujudkan kemandirian pangan," tutupnya.
