Bangko- Indeks Perkembangan Harga (IPH) Kabupaten Merangin pada minggu kedua April 2025 diangka ini -2,50. Ini artinya terjadi penurunan dibandingkan IPH Merangin pada minggu pertama April 2025 sebesar 2,27.
Hal tersebut  dikatakan Bupati Merangin H M Syukur melalui Sekda Merangin Fajarman, usai mengikuti rakor Pengendalian Inflasi Daerah yang dipimpin Menteri Dalam Negeri Tito Karnavian secara zoom meeting, Senin (05/5). 
‘’Kita terus berupaya menekan harga kebutuhan pokok di pasaran. Hasilnya pada minggu kedua ini secara umum terjadi penurunan harga bahan pokok di pasaran dalam Kabupaten Merangin,’’ujar Sekda.
Penurunan harga kebutuhan pokok tertinggi di pasaran itu jelas Fajarman, terjadi pada tiga komoditi yaitu, Cabe Merah, Daging Ayam Ras dan Bawang Merah, untuk bahan kebutuhan pokok lainnya sedikit mengalami penurunan dan stabil.
Turunnya harga tiga komoditi tersebut, bedasarkan pantauan Tim Pengendalian Inflasi Daerah (TPID) Kabupaten Merangin, karena banyak daerah pertanian di Kabupaten Merangin, yang melakukan panen Cabai Merah dan Bawang Merah serentak.
Kondisi itu mengakibatkan pasokan Cabai Merah dan Bawang Merah di pasaran melimpah, sehingga harganya menjadi turun. Sedangkan untuk harga Daging Ayam Ras juga turun, karena banyak kandang ayam yang juga melakukan panen serentak.
TPID Kabupaten Merangin setiap harinya terus melakukan pemantauan harga kebutuhan pokok di pasaran. Sejauh ini belum ada tanda-tanda akan terjadi kenaikan harga kebutuhan pokok, karena pasokan masih melimpah.
Tampak hadir mendampingi Sekda, Kepala Bulog Cabang Bangko Hamdani, Kepala PBS Merangin Kuswan, Kadis Koperindag Dadang, perwakilan dari Dinas Nakbun Eri Sandi, perwakilan dari Bappeda Andi Sanjaya, perwakilan dari Dinas Ketahanan Pangan Eldawati Salim dan dari Bagian Ekonomi Setda Merangin Eka.
