Kegiatan diawali dengan prosesi upacara pelepasan pangkat jabatan, dilanjutkan dengan penyematan pangkat jabatan dan penanda tanganan surat tugas dan fakta integritas serta pengambilan sumpah jabatan.
Kapolres Merangin AKBP Roni Syahendra, SH.,S.I.K.,M.Si, dalam amanatnya menyampaikan bahwa upacara serah terima jabatan pada hari ini merupakan hal biasa dalam organisasi Polri. 
”Ini merupakan bagian dari proses pembinaan sumber daya, sekaligus  regenerasi yang dilakukan berdasarkan penilaian, evaluasi dan assessment yang sistematik, bertujuan untuk menjamin dinamika manajemen organisasi dilingkungan Polri”, sebut Kapolres.
Lebih lanjut Kapolres menambahkan, ”Jabatan yang diemban saat ini merupakan suatu amanah sekaligus kepercayaan. Dimana didalamnya mengandung tanggung jawab, sehingga setiap jabatan dituntut untuk dapat menampilkan kinerja terbaik agar mampu membawa perubahan dalam organisasi yang dipimpin kearah yang lebih baik”. tambahnya.
Selain upacara Sertijab, ada juga beberapa jabatan perwira Polres Merangin yang bergeser, yakni IPTU Erik Kurniawan,S.H.,M.H. yang sebelumnya menjabat sebagai Kaur Bin Ops (KBO)  Sat Resnarkoba diangkat dalam jabatan baru sebagai Kapolsek Bathin VIII Polres Sarolangun dan IPDA Sultan Maulana,S.Trk yang sebelumnya menjabat Kanit Krimum diangkat dalam jabatan baru sebagai Ps Panit 1 unit 5 Subdit 3 Ditreskrimum Polda Jambi. 
“Dalam kesempatan ini, secara pribadi dan selaku Kapolres saya mengucapkan terima kasih kepada AKP Hadi Siswanto, S.I.K.,M.H., IPTU Erik Kurniawan,S.H.,M.H, IPDA Sultan Maulana,S.Trk serta personil lainnya yang mutasi keluar Polres Merangin atas dedikasi, loyalitas dan kinerja yang baik selama di Polres Merangin, tetap jalin komunikasi dan silahturahmi, serta semoga sukses ditempat tugas yang baru”, ujar Kapolres.
”Kepada pejabat yang baru AKP Iwan Wahyudi. SH.,M.H., dan personil lainnya yang dimutasikan ke Polres Merangin saya mengucapkan selamat datang dan selamat bergabung di Polres Merangin, segera menyesuaikan diri dan kenali ruang lingkup ditempat tugas yang baru. Laksanakan tugas tersebut dengan baik dan penuh rasa tanggung jawab”, tutup Kapolres.
Setelah selesai pelaksanaan upacara serah terima jabatan, kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan acara pisah sambut dari pejabat lama kepada pejabat baru di Aula Wira Satya dan diakhiri dengan acara ramah tamah.
