Merangin - Wabup Merangin, H. A Khafid Moein melakukan tanam padi serentak di lokasi penanaman padi serentak seluruh wilayah Provinsi Jambi, yang perdana di Desa Tambang Emas, Kecamatan Pamenang Selatan, Kabupaten Merangin, Selasa (22/4).
Penanaman padi serentak tersebut, dalam rangka mendukung program swasembada pangan nasional. ‘’Jadi untuk di Desa Tambang Emas ini ada sebanyak 15 hektar lahan yang siap tanam padi sawah,’’ ujar Wabup.
Untuk satu tahun lahan tambah tanam di Kabupaten Merangin jelas wabup, ditargetkan sebanyak 13 ribu hektar. Sedangkan untuk Bulan April 2025 ini ditargetkan tanam padi sawah seluas 159 hektar.
‘’Insya Allah, target itu bisa tercapai dengan kebersamaan seluruh stokeholder Merangin, Dandim 0420/Sarko, Polres Merangin, Dinas Tanaman Pangan dan Holtikultura Merangin serta para petani,’’ harap Wabup.

‘’Mundah-mudahan dengan bimbingan dari Dinas Tanaman Pangan dan Holtikultura Merangin dan dinas terkait lainnya serta bantuan bibit dari Pusat bisa meningkatkan sisten pola tanam ini setahun bisa tiga kali panen,’’ pinta Wabup.
Selain itu diterangkan wabup, bibit padi yang ditanam saat ini masih dari swasembada para petani di Kabupaten Merangin.  Wabup berharap semoga bibit dari Pemerintah Pusat segera sampai ke Kabupaten Merangin.
Pada kesempatan itu, wabup menyerahkan bantuan satu unit mesin pompa air dari Tim Peningkatan Ketahanan Pangan Kabupaten Merangin, Dandim 0420/Sarko, Polres Merangin serta Dinas Tanaman Pangan dan Holtikultura Merangin kepada ketua kelompok tani di kawasan tersebut.
Sebelum melakukan tanam padi serentak dilakukan Rakor bersama Wakil Gubernur (Wagub) Jambi H Abdulah Sani secara zoom meeting. Pada rakor itu Wagub menanyakan langsung kesiapan dan kendala yang dihadapi pada tanam padi serentak itu.
Tampak hadir mendampingi wabup, Kasdim Mayor Inf Usman bersama jajarannya, perwakilan dari Polres Merangin, perwakilan dari Kejari Merangin, Kadis Tanaman Pangan dan Holtikultura Merangin Zainal Abidin, Kadis Kominfo M Arief, Kadis PMD Andrei dan para pejabat lainnya, serta tiga orang anggota DPRD Merangin perwakilan dapil III Pamenang.
