JAMBI - Kesibukan terlihat dari dapur berdinding _pink_ di sebuah rumah di daerah Tanjong Sari, Kota Jambi. Ada yang sedang membuat adonan, mengangkat kue dari oven, dan juga mengemasnya dalam toples. Dapur ini mengepul kencang di hari raya keagamaan. Menyambut hari raya idul fitri lalu, omsetnya mencapai Rp 25 juta. Senin (21/4/2025).
Duduk di meja, perempuan bertubuh ramping nampak berkutat dengan angka pada buku pesanan. Dialah Melly Kurniati (39) yang menjalankan wirausaha kue kering dan katering. Dari usaha ini, dia menciptakan lapangan kerja dan menggulirkan roda ekonomi di lingkungannya. Siapa sangka, perempuan yang akrab disapa Yuk Melly ini merupakan alumni dari Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan (WPB) Lapas Perempuan Kelas IIB Jambi.
Yuk Melly menjadi bukti nyata bahwa jeruji bukanlah akhir. Dia sadar bahwa hidup tidak bisa terus diisi dengan penyesalan. “Di dalam lapas saya sempat kehilangan harapan. Dulu ada yang bilang hidup saya bisa berubah, saya nggak percaya. Tapi, lewat program kerja sama dengan Pertamina (Pertamina EP Jambi.red), saya pelan-pelan belajar keterampilan baru dan lebih dari itu, saya belajar untuk percaya diri lagi,” kenangnya.
Program yang dimaksud Melly adalah Program Pengembangan Masyarakat (PPM) dari Pertamina EP (PEP) Jambi tahun 2018 silam. Membatik menjadi program keterampilan pertama bagi WPB Perempuan. Program ini disambut antusias pihak Lapas yang sedang mencari cara untuk menekan angka residivis.
Program Pengembangan Masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh Pertamina EP Jambi memang berfokus untuk mempersiapkan WBP dalam menjalankan fungsi sosialnya ketika kembali ke masyarakat. “Intervensi yang dilakukan merupakan upaya agar WPB tidak kembali terjerat kepada perbuatan melanggar hukum,” ungkap Winda Damelia Sr. Officer Community Involvement Development Zona 1. Adapun program inovasi sosial yang dikembangkan oleh PEP Jambi adalah SRIKANDI PERUBAHAN (Sistem Reintegrasi WBP Perempuan Dengan Pendekatan Sustaining Empowerment Berbasis Lingkungan).
Pendekatan ini dirancang untuk memberikan dukungan secara holistik dengan empat hub yang diturunkan dalam kegiatan. Pertama, *Psychohub* yang berfokus mengedepankan dukungan mental dan mengatasi trauma. Kedua, *Empowerhub* berfokus pada peningkatan keterampilan praktis yang relevan menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pasar. Ketiga, *Learnhub* berfokus pada peningkatan pengetahuan teknis dan teoritis dalam pengembangan kegiatan. Terakhir, *Ecohub* berfokus pada membangun kesadaran akan lingkungan melalui penerapan pengetahuan terkait lingkungan dalam setiap aspek kegiatan yang diikuti.
Pada tahap awal, Pertamina memberikan pelatihan dasar membatik, serta menyediakan bahan produksi dan bahan baku untuk penunjang kegiatan bagi WBP. Melly bergabung di bagian pewarnaan batik. Tak hanya produksi, dalam keseharian ia juga diberi wawasan mengenai hitungan bisnis dan strategi pemasaran produk.
Bagi Melly meskipun keterampilan membatik tidak bisa diaplikasikan langsung saat Melly bebas Oktober 2022 silam, tapi berpengaruh besar. Dia mengakui dengan membatik dia juga lebih tenang dan tidak lagi memendam rasa kecewa, marah dan malu pada dirinya sendiri. Pelatihan juga bermanfaat. “Saat kembali berjualan kue dan katering makanan, saya lebih ngerti soal pemasaran. Gimana cari rekanan, cari pembeli tetap, evaluasi bisnis dan pengembangannya,” terang Melly.
Dari program tahun 2018 ke 2025, Pertamina EP Jambi mulai beranjak untuk fokus pada sisi hilir, yakni setelah WPB bebas. Daya juang Yuk Melly merintis kembali usaha kue dan katering patut didukung. “Merintis usaha setelah bebas sulit sekali, orang tidak mudah percaya. Tapi rasanya seperti mimpi, Pertamina mau membantu dan membina,” jelasnya.
Kini usaha katering Yuk Melly kembali berjalan lancar. Bahkan mengajak warga sekitar yang kesulitan mencari pekerjaan ketika kebanjiran order. Ada juga 5 orang yang dilibatkan sebagai asisten dapur.
