TANJAB BARAT – Bupati Tanjung Jabung Barat, Drs. H. Anwar Sadat, M.Ag., didampingi Wakil Bupati Dr. H. Katamso SA, S.E., M.E., resmi membuka Lomba Permainan Tradisional Sauk’an Layangan di kawasan Waterfront City Kuala Tungkal, Sabtu (08/08).
Perlombaan yang di rencanakan berlangsung selama dua hari, 8–9 Agustus 2026, tersebut menjadi bagian dari upaya melestarikan permainan rakyat sekaligus mempererat silaturahmi dan kebersamaan masyarakat. Tradisi layangan di Tanjung Jabung Barat kembali dihidupkan agar masyarakat, terutama anak-anak dan generasi muda, memiliki ruang untuk beraktivitas serta bersosialisasi di luar ruangan.
Dalam laporan panitia yang disampaikan Kepala Dinas Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Desa (PMD) Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat, M. Natsir, S.IP., M.M., tercatat 130 peserta mengikuti perlombaan. Rinciannya terdiri dari 64 peserta umum, 22 pelajar tingkat SD, serta 44 pelajar tingkat SMP dan SMA/sederajat.
Keterlibatan peserta dari berbagai kelompok usia menunjukkan tingginya antusiasme masyarakat dalam menghidupkan kembali permainan yang menjadi bagian dari tradisi daerah.
Dalam sambutannya, Bupati menyampaikan apresiasi kepada panitia, Dinas PMD, serta seluruh pihak yang telah memberikan dukungan sehingga perlombaan dapat terlaksana.
Menurutnya, permainan rakyat tidak sekadar menjadi hiburan, tetapi juga memiliki nilai budaya dan sosial yang perlu dikenalkan serta diwariskan kepada generasi berikutnya.
“Terima kasih kepada panitia, Dinas PMD, dan seluruh sponsor yang sudah mendukung kegiatan ini. Semoga permainan seperti ini dapat terus kita lestarikan dan kembangkan,” ujar Bupati.
Bupati juga mengingatkan seluruh peserta agar menjunjung tinggi sportivitas. Semangat berkompetisi, katanya, hendaknya tetap dibarengi dengan rasa persaudaraan dan saling menghargai.
Perlombaan ini turut mendapat dukungan dari berbagai pihak melalui sponsorship dan hadiah, di antaranya Bank BPD 9 Jambi, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Bank BPR Tanggo Rajo, BPJS Kesehatan, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, APDESI Merah Putih, Vivo, Real Chicken x Real Esteh, Kopi Kuy, Kopi Paman, Barokah Printing, Bina Insani Tour – Haji & Umroh, TP Net, Tungkal Punye, serta Bronut Tourism.
Pembukaan ditandai dengan penerbangan layangan bersama oleh Bupati, Wakil Bupati, unsur Forkopimda, dan para tamu undangan.
Selain perlombaan, panitia juga menyiapkan pembagian doorprize bagi peserta yang memperoleh kupon, sehingga menambah semarak suasana dan antusiasme masyarakat yang hadir.
Suasana Waterfront City semakin semarak dengan kehadiran peserta dan masyarakat. Selain menjadi ajang kompetisi, perlombaan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi ruang interaksi positif sekaligus memperkenalkan kembali permainan rakyat kepada generasi muda.
