MUARABULIAN - Pemerintah Kabupaten Batang Hari terus berupaya mengembangkan sektor pariwisata sebagai salah satu upaya mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi daerah.
Kepala Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (PUPR) Kabupaten Batang Hari, Ajrisa Windra di Muarabulian mengatakan, pembangunan destinasi wisata tersebut dibiayai melalui Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Daerah (APBD) Tahun 2026.
"Pemerintah mulai membangun destinasi wisata baru bernama Aek Tumpah atau air terjun buatan dengan anggaran sebesar Rp3,5 miliar," katanya.
Menurutnya, proyek tersebut telah memasuki tahap pelaksanaan setelah proses kontrak selesai. Pengerjaan ditargetkan rampung dalam waktu sekitar 150 hari kerja.
Selain menjadi destinasi wisata baru, kawasan Aek Tumpah juga dirancang untuk mendukung pengembangan usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM).
Pemerintah daerah menyiapkan kawasan tersebut dengan tujuan agar pelaku usaha lokal memiliki ruang untuk berjualan dan memanfaatkan meningkatnya jumlah kunjungan wisatawan.
Untuk itu, dengan adanya pembangunan ini Pemerintah Kabupaten Batang Hari berharap Aek Tumpah mampu menjadi daya tarik baru bagi wisatawan, baik dari dalam maupun luar daerah.
"Dengan adanya destinasi tersebut diharapkan dapat meningkatkan perputaran ekonomi masyarakat, menciptakan peluang usaha baru, serta menambah pilihan lokasi rekreasi bagi warga Batang Hari tanpa harus bepergian ke daerah lain," ujarnya.
Pemerintah optimistis pengembangan sektor pariwisata yang terintegrasi dengan pemberdayaan UMKM akan memberikan dampak positif terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi daerah sekaligus meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat
