Acara tersebut turut dihadiri oleh Sekretaris Daerah Zulhifni, Kadis PU Risdiansyah, Plt Kadis Kadis DPMPTSP Agus Salim Idris, Ketua DMI Arfandi Ibnu Hajar, Camat Bangko Eduar, Lurah Pematang Kandis Sri Wahyuni dan Para Imam Masjid.
Dalam sambutannya, Bupati M. Syukur menyampaikan pesan darurat sampah dan ancaman narkoba kepada para Imam Masjid.
"Peran Imam Masjid sangat vital sebagai garda terdepan dalam mengubah pola pikir masyarakat demi mewujudkan visi "Merangin Baru"," ujar Bupati.
Program "Merangin Baru" lanjutnya, tidak hanya terbatas pada pembangunan fisik, melainkan perubahan paradigma (mindset). 
"Imam masjid adalah sosok yang setiap hari bersentuhan langsung dengan masyarakat. Kami menitipkan pesan darurat sampah dan narkoba ini agar semangat perubahan menuju Merangin Baru bisa dirasakan hingga ke akar rumput," tambahnya.
Kata Bupati, isu penanganan sampah kini menjadi instruksi langsung Presiden RI. Ia mengingatkan kembali adanya fatwa Majelis Ulama yang mengharamkan pembuangan sampah ke sungai.
Pemerintah daerah telah berupa menambah armada pengangkut sampah. Namun, masalah utama adalah rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam membuang sampah pada tempatnya.
Pemerintah juga telah menambah tunjangan bagi Ketua RT untuk dengan harapan dapat mengintensifkan sosialisasi pemilahan sampah di tingkat lingkungan.
"Saat ini sampah bisa menjadi barang berharga melalui program bank sampah. Saya mohon bantuan para Lurah, Camat, dan imam masjid untuk menyampaikan hal ini kepada jemaah," pintanya.
"Fokus kami adalah penataan Kota Bangko sebagai wajah daerah. Jika kota bersih, rapi, dan modern, maka orang akan nyaman berkunjung dan ekonomi akan bergerak," ungkapnya.
Isu kedua yang menjadi sorotan adalah masifnya peredaran narkoba. Mengutip data dari Gubernur Jambi, Bupati mengungkapkan fakta memprihatinkan bahwa sekitar 60% penghuni Lapas terjerat kasus narkoba, dengan konsentrasi besar di kecamatan tertentu.
"Narkoba kini menyasar masyarakat kurang mampu dan menjadikan anak-anak sebagai target pengedar. Jika kita tidak bergerak sekarang, kita akan kehilangan satu generasi," tegasnya.
Senada dengan Bupati, Wakil Bupati A. Khafidh juga mengajak para pengurus masjid untuk lebih ramah terhadap anak-anak. Menurutnya, masjid harus menjadi tempat yang nyaman agar generasi muda terbentengi dari pengaruh negatif.
"Jangan cemberut kalau ada anak-anak agak ribut di masjid. Rangkul mereka dengan senyum seperti cara tempat hiburan malam menarik pengunjungnya. Kalau anak-anak nyaman di masjid, mereka akan jauh dari narkoba," pesan Wabup.
Terkait kondisi fiskal, M. Syukur memaparkan bahwa meski terjadi penarikan anggaran pusat sebesar Rp240 miliar pada tahun 2026, pemerintah tetap memprioritaskan infrastruktur.
Tercatat pada tahun 2025, Pemkab berhasil membangun jalan sepanjang 18 km, meningkat signifikan dibanding tahun sebelumnya yang hanya 8 km. 
Pemerintah juga telah menyediakan alat berat (Excavator dan Bomag) di wilayah dusun untuk memastikan akses jalan bagi anak sekolah tidak terkendala.
