MUARABULIAN - Bupati Batang Hari, Muhammad Fadhil Arief, SE menegaskan komitmen Pemerintah Kabupaten (Pemkab) Batang Hari dalam mendukung program-program yang berorientasi pada peningkatan mutu pendidikan, khususnya pada jenjang pendidikan dasar.
Hal ini disampaikan Bupati Muhammad Fadhil Arief saat menerima audiensi terkait Program dan Penguatan Literasi serta Numerasi Kelas Awal, yaitu Kelas 1 dan Kelas 2 Sekolah Dasar pada Selasa (24/02/2026).
Menurut Bupati Fadhil Arief, penguatan literasi dan numerasi sejak dini merupakan kunci dalam mencetak generasi yang unggul, berdaya saing, serta mampu menjawab tantangan pembangunan di masa mendatang," katanya.
Audiensi ini juga menjadi bagian dari upaya kolaboratif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dasar, khususnya pada fase fondasi kemampuan membaca, menulis dan berhitung bagi peserta didik di Kabupaten Batang Hari.
Dalam pertemuan tersebut disampaikan, bahwa UNICEF Indonesia berkomitmen untuk membantu Pemerintah Indonesia dalam mencapai mandat Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya yang berkaitan dengan pemenuhan hak anak, termasuk hak atas pendidikan yang berkualitas dan inklusif.
Sebagai wujud nyata komitmen tersebut, UNICEF Indonesia bekerja sama dengan Tanoto Foundation dan Gates Foundation melaksanakan program Foundation Literacy and Numeracy Improvement through Systematic, Timely, and Cost-Effective Data-Driven Decision Making (FAASTER). Program ini dirancang untuk memperkuat literasi dan numerasi siswa kelas awal melalui pendekatan berbasis data yang sistematis, tepat waktu, dan efektif dari sisi biaya, sehingga pengambilan kebijakan dapat dilakukan secara lebih terarah dan berdampak.
Melalui audiensi ini, UNICEF mengajukan permohonan konfirmasi komitmen Pemerintah Kabupaten Batang Hari sekaligus melakukan konsultasi awal guna mendukung perancangan program ke depan. Diharapkan sinergi antara pemerintah daerah dan mitra pembangunan dapat memperkuat kualitas pembelajaran di kelas awal sekolah dasar, sehingga anak-anak di Batang Hari memiliki fondasi literasi dan numerasi yang kuat sebagai bekal melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang berikutnya.
