BANGKO – Pemerintah Kabupaten  Merangin terus memacu perlindungan hukum terhadap kekayaan budaya dan potensi ekonomi daerah. 
Hal ini ditegaskan dalam audiensi bersama Kantor Wilayah Kementerian Hukum dan HAM (Kanwil Kemenkumham) Jambi yang berlangsung di Ruang Rapat Kantor Bupati Merangin, Selasa (3/2).
Jalannya audiensi dipimpin oleh Bupati Merangin, diwakili oleh Asisten I Setda Merangin, Sukoso. Hadir dalam pertemuan tersebut jajaran OPD terkait, mulai dari Dinas KUMPP, Dinas Pendidikan, Dinas Perkebunan, Balitbang, hingga Bagian Hukum Setda Merangin.
Sementara itu, dari pihak Kemenkumham hadir Kakanwil Jambi Johnson Siagian dan Kepala Divisi Pelayanan Hukum Diana Yuli Astuti.
Dalam audiensi tersebut, Kadiv Pelayanan Hukum, Diana Yuli Astuti, memberikan apresiasi tinggi kepada Pemkab Merangin. 
Ia mengungkapkan bahwa Merangin merupakan kabupaten pertama di Provinsi Jambi yang mengajukan Rancangan Peraturan Daerah (Ranperda) terkait Kekayaan Intelektual (KI).
"Kami sangat mengapresiasi antusiasme Bupati dan jajaran Pemda Merangin. Dari seluruh kabupaten/kota di Jambi, Merangin adalah yang pertama mengusulkan Ranperda KI. Ini membuktikan komitmen nyata dalam melindungi aset daerah," ujar Diana, yang juga merupakan putra daerah asli Jambi.
Saat ini, Merangin baru memiliki satu sertifikat Indikasi Geografis (IG), yakni Kopi Robusta Sumatera Merangin. Pihak Kemenkumham mendorong agar tahun 2026 ini minimal ada satu lagi potensi lokal yang didaftarkan. 
Beberapa komoditas yang menjadi prioritas antara lain Kayu Manis Jangkat, Nanas Madu Tanjung Dalam, Duku Muaro Panco, Ubi Madu Jangkat dan berbagai produk lainnya.
Selain produk pertanian, fokus perlindungan juga diarahkan pada Merek Kolektif untuk Koperasi Merah Putih dan Hak Cipta bagi seniman lagu daerah. 
Diana menehaskan pentingnya pendaftaran karya cipta agar para seniman lokal bisa mendapatkan royalti, terutama di tengah tren digitalisasi saat ini.
Kakanwil Kemenkumham Jambi, Johnson Siagian, menegaskan bahwa perlindungan KI adalah kunci kemajuan UMKM sesuai program Presiden Prabowo Subianto. 
Ia menjelaskan bahwa saat ini pendaftaran telah menggunakan transformasi digital melalui portal DJKI untuk mempermudah masyarakat. Terkait kendala anggaran pendaftaran, Johnson menyarankan adanya sinergi dengan pihak ketiga. 
"Kuncinya ada di pembiayaan. Kita bisa mendorong kerja sama dengan Bank Indonesia atau melalui dana CSR perusahaan yang nantinya dipayungi oleh Perda KI tersebut," jelasnya.
Sebagai tindak lanjut, Pemkab Merangin dan Kanwil Kemenkumham Jambi berencana melakukan penandatanganan Nota Kesepahaman (MoU) dan Perjanjian Kerja Sama (PKS) dengan masing-masing OPD dalam waktu dekat.
Pertemuan ini diakhiri dengan komitmen bersama untuk menginventarisasi Kekayaan Intelektual Komunal (KIK) seperti seni budaya dan makanan khas agar tidak diklaim oleh daerah lain.
