Kunjungan ini merupakan tindak lanjut dari pertemuan antara Bupati M. Syukur bersama Menteri Sosial Syaifullah Yusuf pada Kamis (22/1) yang lalu si Jakarta.
Dalam pertemuan tersebut, Direktur PKAT Kemensos RI, I Ketut Supena beserta jajaran akan langsung melakukan kunjungan ke Desa Tambang Baru Kecamatan Tabir Lintas dan Desa Tanjung Lamin Kecamatan Pamenang Barat, Selasa (27/1).
Guna mematangkan kegiatan Kunker, Bupati M. Syukur langsung memimpin Rapat Koordinasi bersama Direktur PKAT Kemensos, I Ketut Supena dan jajaran pemerintah Kabupaten Merangin.
Fokus utama pembahasan adalah kesiapan teknis lapangan terkait pemberdayaan masyarakat adat dan optimalisasi potensi daerah.
Berdasarkan hasil rapat, Direktur PKAT dijadwalkan akan turun langsung ke dua lokasi yaitu Sekolah Rakyat (SR) di Tanjung Lamin, peninjauan fasilitas pendidikan bagi komunitas adat dan peninjauan rencana keramba ikan di Dam Betuk Desa Tambang Baru serta evaluasi potensi ekonomi kerakyatan melalui sektor perikanan.
"Kami ingin memastikan seluruh sarana dan prasarana di lokasi yang akan dikunjungi sudah siap, sehingga kunjungan Bapak Direktur besok dapat memberikan dampak nyata bagi pemberdayaan komunitas adat kita," ujar M. Syukur di sela-sela rapat.
Rapat pematangan ini turut dihadiri oleh jajaran pejabat dari Kemensos RI serta jajaran Forkopimda dan Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD) terkait di lingkup Pemkab Merangin, di antaranya Kadis Perikanan Merangin Dedy Darmantias, perwakilan Polres Merangin, Sekdin Dinas Sosial Mas’ud, Kabag SDA  Haidir dan Kabag Prokompim Antin.
