Warga Desa Tanjung Ilir  RT 004 Kec. Tabir Lintas  ini, berhasil ditangkap oleh Tim Opsnal Satreskrim Polres Merangin  saat berada disebuah warung pecel lele yang terletak di Pasar Rantau Panjang Kec. Tabir pada Kamis, (24/12/2025 sekitar pukul 01.00 WIB.
Kasat Reskrim Polres Merangin IPTU Eka Putra Yuliesman Koto.SH.,MH, membenarkan penangkapan tersebut. Ia mengatakan bahwa MA merupakan specialis pelaku pencurian dengan cara mencongkel rumah milik korban diwilayah Kec.Tabir Lintas yang marak akhir-akhir ini.
“Pelaku ini sudah kami incar sejak beberapa hari terakhir. Ia melakukan pencurian dengan modus mencongkel rumah korban saat rumah dalam keadaan kosong maupun saat korban terlelap tidur,” ujar Kasat Reskrim.
Selain mengamankan pelaku, polisi juga menyita berbagai barang bukti hasil curian serta alat yang digunakan dalam melakukan aksinya. Barang bukti tersebut kini diamankan di Sat Reskrim Polres Merangin.
Dari hasil pendalaman terhadap kasus ini. Polisi dikejutkan dengan keterangan pelaku yang mengaku sudah 10 kali melakukan aksi pencurian dengan modus congkel rumah di wilayah Kec.Tabir Lintas.
"Tersangka MA ini, sudah melakukan pembobolan rumah di 10 TKP berbeda, namun hanya di 7 TKP (tempat kejadian perkara) pelaku berhasil mengambil barang berharga milik korban," ujar Kasubsi Penmas  Polres Merangin, AIPTU Ruly.S.Sy.,M.H pada Selasa (30/12/2025). 
Terakhir, pelaku MA beraksi dengan membobol rumah milik korban Muslimin (48), warga Desa Sido Lego Kecamatan Tabir Lintas Kab. Merangin, pada Minggu (06/12/2025) lalu sekitar pukul 03.00 WIB. 
"Awalnya saya diberitahu oleh istri saya, bahwa pada  Minggu (06/12/2025) sekitar pukul 03.00 Wib, telah terjadi pencurian dirumah saya. Dimana pelaku diduga masuk kerumah saya dengan cara merusak dan mencongkel jendela rumah saya dan setelah dilakukan pengecekan ternyata 2 buah handphone merk REALME C71 milik saya telah hilang diduga diambil oleh pelaku," ujar korban.
Saat ini polisi masih mendalami keterangan pelaku, terkait kemungkinan adanya jaringan lain yang melakukan aksinya bersama pelaku.
Sementara itu guna mempertanggungjawabkan perbuatannya terhadap pelaku dikenakan Pasal 363 KUHP tentang pencurian dengan pemberatan dengan ancaman 7 tahun penjara.
