BANGKO – Pemerintah Kabupaten Merangin melalui tim gabungan yang dipimpin oleh Wakil Bupati A. Khafidh berhasil menertibkan aktivitas Penambangan Emas Tanpa Izin (PETI) di kawasan objek wisata Dam Betuk, Desa Tambang Baru, Kecamatan Tabir Lintas, pada Rabu (3/12).
Penertiban yang melibatkan unsur TNI, Polri, Brimob, Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja (Satpol PP), BPBD, Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (LH), Camat, dan Kepala Desa ini berjalan lancar. Anggota DPRD Provinsi Jambi, Izhar Madjid juga ikut andil dalam penertiban.
Wakil Bupati Merangin, A. Khafidh, menyampaikan apresiasi dan rasa terimakasih kepada seluruh pihak yang terlibat.
"Terima kasih kepada seluruh pihak yang telah terlibat. Ada Pak Kapolres, Dandim, Brimob, BPBD, LH, Camat, Kades, dan seluruh masyarakat. Alhamdulillah, penertiban berjalan lancar tanpa adanya perlawanan," ujar Wabup.
Pasca penertiban, Wabup A. Khafidh menyatakan bahwa kawasan Dam Betuk akan segera dikembalikan pada fungsinya.
Dam Betuk akan difungsikan kembali sebagai sumber pengairan sawah, objek wisata, dan sentra budidaya perikanan.
"Sesuai instruksi Pak Bupati M. Syukur, Dam Betuk akan kita kembalikan fungsinya seperti semula. Kita akan kembangkan kembali budidaya ikan dan objek wisatanya bersama lima Kepala Desa dan Camat Tabir Lintas," tegas Wabup.
Sementara itu, Kapolres Merangin AKBP Kiki Firmansyah Efendi, S.I.K., M.H., menuturkan ada 15 rakit PETI yang berhasil diamankan.
Berbeda dari praktik sebelumnya, rakit-rakit tersebut tidak dimusnahkan dengan cara dibakar.
"Kami akan terus melakukan patroli dan menjamin dam betuk ini bersih dari PETI. Untuk kali ini, rakitnya tidak kita bakar, tapi kita potong menggunakan alat chainsaw," jelas Kapolres AKBP Kiki Firmansyah Efendi.
"Kami menghimbau kepada seluruh warga untuk tidak bermain PETI. Mari sama-sama kita menjaga keasrian lingkungan hidup," pungkasnya.
