BANGKO – Pemerintah Kabupaten (Pemkab) Merangin memperingati Hari Guru Nasional (HGN) ke-80 dengan penuh khidmat dan meriah di Halaman Kantor Bupati Merangin, Selasa (25/11).
Tak hanya menggelar upacara peringatan, Pemkab Merangin juga menyalurkan berbagai bantuan sosial, beasiswa, hingga meluncurkan program strategis pendidikan.
Bupati Merangin, M. Syukur, yang bertindak sebagai inspektur upacara, secara simbolis menyerahkan buku modul kursus bahasa asing.
Penyerahan ini menandai dimulainya program kursus Bahasa Inggris gratis yang akan dilaksanakan di setiap kecamatan.
Program ini merupakan realisasi dari visi dan misi pasangan Bupati dan Wakil Bupati, M. Syukur - Abdul Khafidh, dalam meningkatkan kompetensi sumber daya manusia di Merangin.
"Guru adalah agen pembelajaran dan peradaban. Di tangan bapak dan ibu guru, kualitas sumber daya manusia serta masa depan bangsa dan negara ini dipertaruhkan," ujar Bupati M. Syukur saat membacakan pidato Menteri Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah.
Dalam rangkaian acara tersebut, Pemkab Merangin memberikan apresiasi tinggi kepada para pahlawan tanpa tanda jasa.
Penghargaan diberikan kepada Guru dan Tenaga Kependidikan (GTK) berprestasi, termasuk kategori khusus bagi guru yang mengajar di kawasan Suku Anak Dalam (SAD).
Salah satu sorotan utama adalah prestasi Astria Sari, S.Pd dari SMPN 53 Merangin (Kategori GTK Dedikatif SMP) yang dipastikan melaju ke tingkat nasional mewakili Provinsi Jambi.
Selain penghargaan profesi, Pemkab Merangin juga menyalurkan bantuan sosial berupa kursi roda bagi 14 Keluarga Penerima Manfaat (KPM) dan 6 paket bantuan medis lainnya.
Sektor pendidikan siswa juga tak luput dari perhatian, dengan diserahkannya beasiswa prestasi Akademik dan Non-Akademik bagi pelajar SD dan SMP. Nominal beasiswa bervariasi, mulai dari Rp500.000 hingga Rp750.000 untuk para juara.
Uniknya, peringatan HGN tahun ini juga melibatkan sektor swasta. Pemkab memberikan piagam penghargaan kepada sejumlah pengusaha lokal seperti Toko Baju Idaman, Beringin Jaya, Teras Haus, Sikumbang Water Park, TB. Gramedia, Toko Perlengkapan Sekolah & ATK Pratama, Rina Mini Market, dan Melati Swalayan, yang telah memberikan diskon khusus bagi para guru sepanjang bulan November.
Dalam amanat yang dibacakan Bupati M. Syukur, Menteri Pendidikan menyoroti tantangan guru di era digital yang kian berat.
Pemerintah menegaskan komitmennya untuk melindungi guru melalui nota kesepahaman dengan Polri terkait restorative justice, sehingga guru tidak mudah dipidana saat menjalankan tugas mendidik.
"Guru harus tampil lebih percaya diri dan berwibawa. Jangan hanya menilai kinerja dan menghakimi mereka dari angka-angka," tegas Bupati mengutip pidato Menteri.
Ia juga menyampaikan lima nasihat Presiden Prabowo Subianto kepada para siswa, salah satunya adalah perintah tegas: "Hormati Guru!".
