BANGKO – Peringatan Hari Sumpah Pemuda ke-97 di Kabupaten Merangin berjalan dengan khidmat.
Bupati Merangin, M. Syukur memimpin jalannya upacara yang digelar di halaman Kantor Bupati Merangin pada Selasa (28/10) pukul 07.30 WIB.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Bupati M. Syukur membacakan naskah pidato dari Menteri Pemuda dan Olahraga, Erick Thohir.
Dengan nada tegas, M. Syukur mengobarkan kembali semangat patriotisme dan kejujuran dalam membangun dan membela negara.
Naskah pidato juga mengingatkan pada pesan perjuangan yang dilakukan oleh para pemuda pahlawan bangsa yang telah mengorbankan jiwa dan raga demi kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia.
"Mereka tidak banyak bicara, mereka berani. Mereka bersumpah dan terpatri dengan darah dan nyawa. Hari ini tugas kita berbeda, kita tidak lagi mengangkat bambu runcing, tetapi mengangkat ilmu, kerja keras, dan kejujuran. Namun semangatnya tetap sama, Indonesia harus berdiri tegak. Indonesia tidak boleh kalah," demikian bunyi kutipan pidato yang dibacakan oleh Bupati.
Pidato tersebut juga menyerukan pentingnya keberanian dan optimisme di tengah tantangan zaman yang berat.
"Kita butuh anak muda yang patriot, yang gigih, yang tetap berdiri ketika badai datang seperti yang dicerminkan oleh Bapak Presiden. Jangan takut gagal, jangan takut bermimpi besar. Kalian adalah pencetak sejarah," ucapnya.
Bupati M. Syukur menutup pembacaan pidato dengan ucapan selamat Hari Sumpah Pemuda ke-97.
"Selamat hari sumpah pemuda ke-79 mari kita buktikan bahwa bangsa Indonesia adalah bangsa yang besar bangsa yang kuat yang disegani oleh seluruh bangsa," pungkasnya.
Turut hadir dalam acara, Wakil Bupati Merangin, H. A. Khafidh, Forkompinda Kabupaten Merangin, para ASN, unsur TNI-Polri, pelajar, organisasi kepemudaan (OKP), serta tamu undangan lainnya.
