Bangko-Pemkab Merangin memperingati Hari Santri Nasional 2025. Acara yang dipusatkan di halaman depan kantor bupati Merangin tersebut, diawali upacara yang dipimpin bupati Merangin H M Syukur diwakili Wabup H Khafid, Rabu (22/10).
Upacara yang diikuti ribuan santri dari seratus lebih Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) di Kabupaten Merangin, unsur Forkopinda Merangin dan para kepala Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD) di jajaran Pemkab Merangin itu, berlangsung khidmat.
Terlihat hadir, Kepala Kantor Kemenag H Khusaini, Ketua Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) Merangin H Dr Joni Musa, Marzuki Yahya dari Baznas, Ketua Komunitas Pimpinan Ponpes Merangin Ustadz Hermanto, Camat Bangko Eduar dan para pimpinan Ponpes.
Pada amanatnya wabup, membacakan pidato Menteri Agama Republik Indonesia Prof  Dr KH Nasaruddin Umar MA. Peringatan hari santri kali ini bertema ‘Mengawal Indonesia  Merdeka Menuju Peradaban Dunia’.
‘’Sebelum kita melangkah ke amanat, izinkan saya menyampaikan rasa duka cita yang mendalam atas wafatnya 67 orang Santri, dalam musibah runtuhnya bangunan Pesantren Al-Khoziny, Sidoarjo Jawa Timur,’’ujar Wabup.
Dilanjutkan wabup pada amanatnya, tahun ini adalah 10 tahun peringatan Hari Santri Nasional sejak pertama kali ditetapkan oleh Pemerintah pada tahun 2015 lalu. Dalam rentang waktu itu, semakin kuatnya peran Pesantren dan Santri dalam berbagai bidang kehidupan.
‘’Kita tidak boleh lupa, jauh sebelum Indonesia merdeka, Pesantren telah menjadi pusat pendidikan di Nusantara, tempat para Santri menimba ilmu sekaligus menempah diri dalam akhlak dan karakter,’’terang Wabup.
Dari pesantrenlah lanjut wabup, lahir generasi yang tidak hanya cerdas secara intelektual, tetapi juga kuat secara spiritual dan moral. Dari rahim Pesantren, lahir para tokoh besar bangsa ini, mulai dari pejuang kemerdekaan hingga pemimpin umat.
‘’Banyak alumni pesantren yang kini menjadi tokoh nasional, pejabat publik, pengusaha, ilmuwan, hingga pemikir dunia. Bahkan, saat ini banyak santri yang sudah berkiprah di level internasional, membawa nama baik Indonesia di kancah global,’’jelas Wabup.
Santri tidak boleh hanya menjadi penonton dalam perubahan zaman. Santri harus hadir sebagai pelaku sejarah baru, menjadi pembawa nilai-nilai Islam Rahmatan Lil 'Alamin dalam membangun peradaban dunia yang damai, adil dan berkeadaban.
