Pawai Barisan Indah Pelajar tersebut, diikuti sebanyak 30 Sekolah Dasar (SD) dengan ragam busana dari baju adat, baju olahrga hingga kostum perjuangan. Dimana masing-masing SD menurukan dua pleton plus satu grub dramband.
Sedangkan SMP/Sederajat yang terlibat pada pawai itu sebanyak 18 sekolah, masing-masing sekolah menurunkan tiga pleton. Untuk SMA/Sederajat sebanyak delapan sekolah, masing-masing sekolah menurunkan tiga pleton.

Insya Allah lanjut bupati, melalui Pawai HUT ke-80 RI ini, Kabupaten Merangin kedepan pendidikannya akan semakin lebih baik, angka kemiskinannya berkurang dan pendidikannya semakin maju.
‘’Atas nama bupati Merangin, saya mengucapkan Dirgahayu NKRI ke-80 Insya Allah Indonesia akan lebih baik, Indonesia akan lebih maju dan Indonesia mampu bersaing dengan negara-negara lain,’’harap Bupati.
Buat semua adik-adik dan anak-anak pelajar, bupati mengucapkan Selamat Pagi, semangat terus untuk belajar dan hari ini momen penting untuk membangkitkan semangat memajukan dunia pendidikan.
‘’Para adik-adik dan anak-anak pelajar semua, harus terus berhati-hati dalam mengikuti Pawai Barisan Indah Pelajar ini, karena yang digunakan adalah jalan raya yang padat arus lalulintasnya,’’pesan Bupati.
Pawai Barisan Indah Pelajar tersebut diikuti total sekitar 4.000 pelajar dari sekolah-sekolah dalam Kecamatan Bangko. Pawai ini akan menempuh rute dari Kantor Bupati Merangin menuju ke depan Gedung DPRD Merangin, lanjut ke depan Kantor Balitbangda.
Iring-iringan Pawai Barisan Indah Pelajar tersebut, berlajut ke depan Kantor Dinas Kominfo Kabupaten Merangin. Para peserta pawai akan beraksi memberikan penghormatan, di depan Panggung Kehormatan depan Kantor Bappeda Merangin.
Di Panggung Kehormatan itu telah duduk Bupati Merangin H M Syukur bersama istri, Wabup H A Khafidh bersama istri, Sekda Fajarman bersama istri dan unsur Forkopimda Merangin serta para kepala OPD di jajaran Pemkab Merangin.
