Pada upacara itu, bupati dan Wakil Bupati Merangin H A Khafidh mengenakan Baju Adat Melayu Jambi lengkap, Ketua TP PKK Merangin Hj Lavita Syukur dan Wakil Ketua TP PKK Hj Emi Minarsih Khafidh, mengenakan Baju Kurung bercorak merah putih.
Semua fokus dan khidmat mengikuti jalannya upacara HUT ke-80 Republik Indonesia, yang pembacaan teks Proklamasi dilakukan Ketua DPRD Merangin Muhammad Rivaldi.
‘’Momentum hari kemerdekaan menjadi pengingat kita untuk terus berjuang, bekerja keras, serta melanjutkan cita-cita para Pahlawan bangsa. Mari isi kemerdekaan ini dengan karya nyata untuk mewujudkan Merangin Baru 2030,’’ujar Bupati usai upacara.
Pada acara tambahan, bupati didampingi wabup, sekda dan unsur Forkopimda Merangin, secara simbolis menyampaikan remisi kepada Warga Binaan Kelas II B Bangko, yang diwakilkan kepada dua orang Warga Binaan.
Ada sebanyak 314 orang dari 440 orang Warga Binaan Lapas Kelas II Bangko yang mendapatkan remisi umum HUT ke-80 Republik Indonesia antara satu bulan hingga enam bulan. Bahkan satu orang dinyatakan bebas.
Usai berfoto-foto dengan petugas upacara, bupati, wabup, sekda dan unsur Forkopimda Merangin bergeser ke Ruang Rapat Kerja Bupati Merangin, guna mengikuti peringatan detik-detik Proklamasi dari Istana Jakarta secara daring.
