Pada main perdana itu, H M Syukur berpasangan dengan Tantowi Ahmad melawan pasangan Kapolres Merangin AKBP Kiki Firmansyah dengan Habib Alfarizi. Pertandingan eksebisi itu berlangsung seru dan sungguh-sungguh meriah.
Kedua pasangan pemain itu, saling unjuk kemampuan dalam memainkan bola-bola tanggung dan sekali-kali melompat melakukan smes maut ke lapangan lawan. Tidak hanya itu bupati juga cukup pandai dalam memainkan bola-bola pendek.
Pertandingan yang cukup menghebohkan dengan sorak-sorai penonton yang tak henti-hentinya itu, berakhir dengan skor 21-19 untuk kemenangan pasangan Bupati H M Syukur dengan Tantowi Ahmad.
Pertandingan eksebisi lainnya dilakukan antara pasangan Ketua PBSI Jambi Mezi Arsento  dengan Tantowi Ahmad melawan pasangan Kasi Pidum Kajari Merangin Ahmad Yantomi dengan Habib Alfarizi.
Pada kesempatan itu Ketua PBSI Jambi Mezi Arsento mengukuhan Pengurus Persatuan Bulutangkis Seluruh Indonesia (PBSI) Kabupaten Merangin. H M Hazil Aima dikukuhkan sebagai ketua umum.
Selain itu, Chandra Jaya sebagai Ketua Harian, Jurianto sebagai Sekretaris, Iyos wakil Sekretaris, Ichwan Nefis sebagai Bendahara dan Dessy Chistina sebagai wakil Bendahara dan dikukuhkan puluhan orang pengurus lainnya.
