Acara peringatan HUT ke-80 RI di Kabupaten Merangin dimulai dengan pengukuhan anggota Paskibraka yang akan dilakukan pada Jumat (15/8) di Auditorium rumah dinas bupati Merangin. Pengukuhan Paskibraka ini dihadiri para orang tua anggota Paskibraka.

Pada Sabtu malam (16/8) atau detik-detik dini hari memasuki tanggal 17 Agustus 2025, pukul 00.00 Wib dilakukan renungan suci, di Taman Makam Pahlawan Patriot Bhakti Merangin.
Sedangkan pada pagi harinya digelar upacara pengibaran duplikat Bendera Pusata Merah Putih, detik-detik Proklamasi Kemerdekaan RI di halaman kantor bupati Merangin. Upacara ini diikuti seluruh pegawai dan instansi vertikal.
Usai upacara Bupati Merangin H M Syukur dan Wabup H A Khafidh akan bertolak ke Lapas kelas II B Bangko, guna mengikuti acara pemberian remisi kepada para warga binaan Lapas.
Rencananya juga ada acara tabur bunga di Makam Pahlawan Patriot Bhakti pada, 17 Agustus 2025 tersebut.  Pada malam harinya digelar acara resepsi kenegaraan di Rumah dinas bupati Merangin.
Selanjutnya pada Senin (18/8) akan dilakukan pawai baris-berbaris anak-anak sekolah melewai jalan-jalan protokol dalam Kota Bangko. Pada hari itu juga di Kabupaten Merangin di setiap Rukun Tetangga (RT) menggelar aneka lomba memeriahkan HUT ke-80 RI.
Dalam memeriahkan HUT ke-80 RI ini, Kabag Umum Setda Merangin Iwan, telah memasang sebanyak 280 umbul-umbul di sepanjang  jalan jalur tiga Bangko dan jalan menuju Kantor Bupati Merangin.
