"Setelah menerima laporan dari korban, Tim Opsnal langsung melakukan penyelidikan dengan mendatangi Tempat Kejadian Perkara (TKP), tak sampai hitungan 1 x 24 jam, Tim Opsnal berhasil mengidentfikasi keberadaan kedua tersangka yang pada saat itu berada disimpang empat lampu merah Sarolangun. Selanjutnya Tim Opsnal berhasil melakukan penangkapan terhadap tersangka serta penyitaan terhadap barang bukti sepeda motor Honda Beat," ujar Ruly.
Guna menghindari kejadian serupa, Ruly juga mengimbau kepada masyarakat untuk lebih berhati-hati dalam meminjamkan kendaraannya kepada orang lain yang belum dikenal serta segera melaporkan jika mengalami tindak pidana serupa.
"Saat ini kedua tersangka sudah ditangani oleh penyidik, guna menghindari kejadian serupa, kami mengimbau kepada masyarakat untuk lebih berhati-hati dalam meminjamkan kendaraannya kepada orang lain yang belum dikenal serta segera melaporkan jika mengalami tindak pidana serupa," tutup Ruly.
Untuk diketahui bahwa modus yang dilakukan kedua tersangka pada saat melancarkan aksinya yakni dengan berpura-pura meminjam sepeda motor milik korban dengan alasan untuk menyetel sepeda motornya yang rusak, setelah motor dalam penguasaan tersangka kemudian tersangka langsung kabur meninggalkan kroban.  Akibat peristiwa tersebut korban mengalami kerugian sekira Rp 8.000.000,- (delapan juta rupiah).
Sementara itu guna mempertanggung jawabkan perbuatannya kedua tersangka dikenakan Pasal 372 KUHP tentang Penggelapan dengan ancaman 4 tahun penjara.
