Bangko-Disaat api masih berkobar ‘menjilat-jilat’ langit dibarengi hembusan asap tebal, Wabup Merangin H A Khafidh turun meninjau kondsi rumah warga yang terbakar, di RT 19 belakang Masjid Hikmah Perumahan Belakang Lapas Kelas II B Bangko, Jumat (11/7).
Di lokasi kebakaran, Wabup berdoa dan turut berduka atas musibah yang menimpa salah seorang warganya tersebut. Rumah yang terbakar itu masih tetangga wabup, karena tidak jauh dari Pondok Pesantren Al Hafidh, dimana wabup tinggal.
‘’Kami sangat berduka dan terimakasih kepada adik-adik petugas kebakaran atas dedikasi dan semangat dalam menjalankan tugasanya memadamkan api pada insiden kebakaran ini,’’ujar Wabup didampingi Kadis Damkar dan Penyelamatan Merangin Abdul Lazik.
Kebakaran hebat meluluhlantakan rumah yang sebagian ruangannya bersisi puluhan tabung gas tersebut, menorah luka mendalam bagi wabup. Untuk itu wabup berpesan kepada seluruh masyarakat Merangin, untuk berhati-hati dengan api.
Untuk memadamkan api yang berkobar sejak pagi hari itu, Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran dan Penyelamatan Merangin, menurunkan tiga mobil damkar dan 50 orang personil gerak cepat.
Tidak hanya itu, 20 orang personil Pemadam dan Pertolongan juga dikerahkan dari Kecamatan Bangko. Dengan kekuatan 70 orang personil itu, kemarahan api yang berkobar-kobar itu dapat ditaklukan.
‘’Alhamdulillah semua pesonil Damkar kita bekerja dengan baik, untuk itu sekali lagi saya ucapkan terimakasih atas semangatnya memadamkan api tersebut,’’ucap Wabup, dibenarkan Camat Bangko Ny Anggie.
Sejauh ini belum diketahui secara pasti dari mana sumber api yang mengakibatkan kebaran itu terjadi. Petugas di lapangan juga belum mengetahui berapa kerugian materi yang ditimbulkan.
