Permintaan maaf itu disampaikan Khaidir dihadapan puluhan rekan Wartawan, yang sebelumnya sempat mekukan aksi damai long march dari Kantor Dinas PUPR Merangin hingga ke depan Kantor Bupati Merangin.
‘’Saya minta maaf kepada rekan-rekan Wartawan atas salah ucap saya. Semoga ini menjadi pelajaran bagi saya kedepannya dan hubungan persahabatan kita semakin erat lagi,’’ujar Khaidir.
Wabup berterimakasih kepada rekan Wartawan, yang sudah bersedia memaafkan Kabag Prokompim Setda Merangin Khaidir atas kesalahan ucapan yang dilakukan beberapa waktu lalu, sehingga membuat rekan-rekan Wartawan jadi tersinggung.
‘’Semoga hal ini tidak terjadi lagi dan tentunya akan menjadi pelajaran yang sangat berharga bagi para pejabat di jajaran Pemkab Merangin, terlebih Kabag Prokompim Setda Merangin Khaidir,’’harap Wabup.
Pada kesempatan itu, wabup juga berterimakasih kepada anggota Polres Merangin dan Satpol PP Merangin yang telah memberikan pengawalan atas aksi damai yang dilakukan para rekan-rekan Wartawan tersebut.
Sekeder mengingat, kejadian itu berawal ketika suatu saat, Khaidir melontarkan ucapan ‘Bila bertemu Wartawan memberi uang Rp 50 ribu satu orang’. Ucapan tersebut terdengar oleh rekan Wartawan, sehingga profesi Wartawan terkesan direndahkan.
