‘’Untuk Wakil Ketua Umum MUI Merangin kita kukuhkan H. Abdul Kholik,LC.M.Phil, Sekretaris Umum MUI Merangin H. Burhani, S.Ag.MH dan Bendahara Umum MUI Merangin Hj Idayanti, S.Pd,’’ujar Prof. Dr. KH. Hadri Hasan, MA.
Selain itu juga dikukuhkan ketua dan anggota Dewan Pertimbangan, ketua, sekretaris dan anggota komisi-komisi, seperti komisi fatwa dan ukhuwah Islamiah, komisi dakwah dan pengembangan masyarakat.
Ada juga komisi pendidikan dan kaderisasi organisasi, komisi pemberdayaan ekonomi  umat, informasi dan komunikasi, komisi kerukunan antar umat beragama, komisi seni dan budaya Islam, komisi penelitian dan pengkajian dan komisi pemberdayaan perempuan, ramaja dan keluarga.
Usai dikukuhkan, Dr. H Joni Musa, LC.MA dalam pidatonya mengatakan, ketua, pengurus dan anggota MUI Kabupaten Merangin, mempunyai tugas berat yang dipikul bersama dipundaknya.
‘’MUI adalah sebagai penjaga agama. Artinya bagaimana agama terjaga dengan baik, sesuai dengan ideologi negara kita. Kedua MUI pemersatu umat dan ketiga MUI sebagai matra Pemerintah,’’ ujar Dr. H Joni Musa, LC.MA.
Para pengurus MUI Merangin diminta Dr. H Joni Musa, LC.MA, harus mampu menciptakan Kabupaten Merangin yang bersih dan agamais. ‘’Pak Bupati telah ciptakan Merangin jadi bersih dan agamais, sebentar lagi ada operasi Pekat,’’ terang Dr. H Joni Musa, LC.MA.
