Pada kesempatan itu, wabup minta kepada para pelajar yang hadir untuk berhati-hati dengan pengaruh bahaya narkoba, karena berbagai bentuk jajanan sekarang ini sudah ada yang sengaja dicampur kandungan narkoba.
Selain itu wabup juga minta kepada para pelajar untuk tidak sekali-kali terlihat dalam judi online, karena sakarang ini Jambi menjadi provinsi yang cukup banyak warganya kecanduan judi online.
Hal senada juga diungkapkan Kapolres Merangin AKBP Roni Syahendra, yang merupakan alumni SMP Negeri 01 Merangin. Kapolres berpesan kepada adik-adiknya kalau pengaruh narkoba dan judi online itu sangat berbahaya.
‘’Dua pengaruh buruk ini, narkoba dan judi online yang merusak generasi muda. Untuk itu jauhi betul dua pengaruh buruk ini, tatap masa depan dengan fokus belajar mengejar prestasi,’’ ujar Kapolres.
